  1. My mistake in trying a second time.

I’ve been with this credit union for more than forty years. My dad opened my first account when I was a little kid. Walt Hendrix was a good family friend, who went on to help grow and expand this credit union to what it is now. He was the best, and the current scoundrels operating and staffing DCCU dishonor his memory.

The good. For the moment, they still make deposits, online banking and bill pay easy and are quite responsive in that arena. The bad. Don’t EVER EVER use them for loans. I bought a second home three years ago and the process was a nightmare. They made BB&T look reasonable.

They explained that this was due to the loan being sold on the secondary market. Because the property has 25 acres they classified it as a farm and ineligible for a home loan. Because two bedrooms had balconies they said they weren’t bedrooms. I had to sign affidavits that my sworn statements were sworn.

I had to retrieve bank statements…wait for it…from DCCU to make sure they matched their records. Really! It’s nearly paid off now to escape the B**turds, and I swore I wouldn’t work with them again. My mistake in trying a second time.
