Dr Tracy Evans

West of Money

I suffered second degree burns all over my arms at the hands of her laser. She is highly incompetent. Dr Tracy Evans referred to the burns as “bruising.” Seared, blistered skin. This was due to her incompetence of not inquiring when my last sun exposure had been — it was within the past few days.

Laser is attracted to melan in the skin, and sun exposure increases melan levels. She used an aperture of approximately 1×2″ all over my arms. I am now scarred for life with white 1×2″ patches on my forearms. I was jumping off the table in pain and she continued the treatment.

Any competent, compassionate, doctor would have stopped the procedure rather than harm their patient. She NEVER admitted her fault, nor apologized. However, she DID try to sell me expensive sunscreen, and invite me back for further procedures to rectify her mistakes (still never admitting to her having caused me second degree burns).

I had two consultations from competent dermatologists that both stated this was negligence on her behalf. She NEVER should have used a laser on my skin because of the recent sun exposure–she should have sent me out the door for two weeks–instead she took my money burnt, and scared me for life. Do not be fooled by the fancy office, and smiling faces on her website. Avoid this one at ALL costs.

  1. Dr. Evens and her incredible staff are a gift from God.

Dr. Evens and her incredible staff are a gift from God. The care and attention I received during recent MOHS procedure was incredible. The Doctor and her staff are all competent, professional and caring. It was a pleasure to be treated with such attention and kindness.

  2. Dr. Evans and all of her other practitioners and staff for any of your dermatologic needs.

I have been a patient for over 2 years and am constantly impressed with the professional manner and personal concern that everyone in the office displays under the guidance of Dr. Evans. I have medical needs that require monthly visits and have been cared for in both the San Francisco and Corte Madera offices.

At this point, going to the doctor there is like visiting caring friends. Having had all types of procedures (from Mohs surgery and pre-cancerous lesion treatment to facial reconstruction fillers and botox) I would highly recommend Dr. Evans and all of her other practitioners and staff for any of your dermatologic needs.

  3. Dangerous

Scarred for life at the hands of her laser. Incompetent. Dangerous.

  4. I was prescribed a potent antibiotic called doxycycline for nearly a year for acne.

I was prescribed a potent antibiotic called doxycycline for nearly a year for acne. Thats far too long to be on any antibiotic, and to top it off, I was not told of any of the harm reduction methods for this drug (e.g. take with a meal, take with lots of water, dont lie down within 2 hours of taking it.) This drug ate away my stomach lining and led to a Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth in stomach which eventually led to IBS.

I’ve gotten off the drug, and am improving, but its not going to be easy to rebalance my gut bacteria. When I asked Dr. Evans for help, she simply refused to admit that the doxycycline had any responsibility in my stomach issues.

  5. Dr. Evans did my skin check, answered all of my questions and concerns.

I had a full body skin check done a week ago. This was my first time at Dr. Evans office, her staff was very polite and helpful. I was checked in, in a timely manner. I did not have to wait, I was brought back after I turned in my new patient paper work. Dr. Evans did my skin check, answered all of my questions and concerns.

  7. All in all, a good experience with a knowledgeable professional.

Being new to SF and not having a network of local friends to recommend physicians, I took a chance with Dr. Evans and I am glad I did. Years of dark tanning and sun-block as an after thought had me worried that I had done permanent damage to my skin. Or worse, I thought I had cancers forming from all the sun burns over the years.

To my relief, after a thorough exam and genuine concern versus lecturing, I was given the all clear. There were 2 worrisome spots that she froze off during that visit and one other that’s a “let’s see” on a follow up. Best of all was the array of products (skin care, sun screens, etc.)

right in the office. She talked about what would work best for me, especially since I tended to avoid sun block because of break-outs and clown-like white face of drug store brands. All in all, a good experience with a knowledgeable professional. Thanks Dr. Evans
