Dr. Schrader Michael

Bad Customer Service

Called Dr. Schrader Michael’s office and no one gives their name, just “Doctor’s office”.

In August I made an initial appointment which would have to be in January at the earliest.

I made a $30 appearance deposit to make sure I would show up.

I canceled at the end of December, but was told the $30 was non refundable.

That was not how I remembered it and after complaining and threatening, I was eventually called back saying that the Doctor agreed to my refund and that I should call Mildred on Monday for my refund.

It took days to get through to her (she never called me back), and after 15 minutes of hold and her searching, etc.

She found the transaction and said she would mail me a check.

The staff is obviously for multiple Doctors and for the most part have little sense of customer service and are responsible to no one but themselves.

I wonder how many others did not go through all the trouble that I did to get their $30 back.

Another example of a Doctor having little sense of business ethics or that $30 is meaningful to some people.

If he changes is policy to automatic and easy refunds, I will update this review.

  1. That was more than any other patent's doctor.

Doctors don’t get any better than Mike Schrader.! I have been seeing him for years but in the late fall of 2010 I became very ill with pain in my knee, then I passed out. The ambulance took me to the hospital where I stayed for 5 and 1/2 months.

I had been given a cortisone injection in my knee by my orthopedic surgeon (long time knee problem) that became septic. Dr Schrader was the only medical person that I saw who gave me straight answers. I was really out of it and do not recall much of the first 17 days. He came to see me several times a week in the hospital the whole time. That was more than any other patent’s doctor.

I was screaming from the pain and he figured out that I needed to see a specialist who diagnosed nerve pain of unknown cause and I was given the right medication.

In addition I got a “pressure sore” from not being rotated while in the main hospital. Pressure sore sounds benign but that ain’t so. I had one on the base of my spine that could have killed me. The hospital would not let me see it but what I could figure it was on open sore about the size of a bagel that was going to hit my spine.

  2. He is everything you expect in a primary doctor

Dr. Schrader has been my primary doctor for many years. I highly recommend him both for general check ups and other issues. Even though he is very busy he always spends time with me, even for the check ups.

He gets back to me on the phone if I have other issues and has recently been very responsive in seeing me for some other serious issues I am having. He is empathetic, funny, and very knowledgeable.

He is well connected if you need referrals and will research options for referrals through his colleagues. When my insurance changed I researched the options for coverage so I could still keep Dr. Schrader, even though the insurance was more expensive .

He is everything you expect in a primary doctor, caring, responsive and as one of his other patients said ” He has the personality and expertise of that long lost family doc.”

  3. I am very disappointed.

Unfortunately I will never know about Dr. Schrader. My doctor, Avi Hettena, left the area to go to Canada and work. I tried to get an appointment with Dr. Schrader in June and the soonest they could get me in was September. So when I came down with a sore throat this week and thought it might be strep, they would not see me. So much for patient care. I am very disappointed.

  4. Bad Service Provide

it takes at least a month to get in and you have no choices – you have to take whatever they have. If you have any sudden illness or condition, you are out of luck unless it is some sort of emergency and the staff has no sympathy. While Dr. Schrader may be good, if you can’t really see him when you need to, what is the point?
