Dr. Richard Winkle

She Was Very Rude And Unprofessional

Dr. Richard Winkle is a very good doctor. He’s an old-school doctor that really knows how to take care of his patients.

I was a patient of his for almost 2 years until I ran into a situation with his office clerk Lorena.

She was very rude and unprofessional to me so I had to file a grievance with the state of California and my insurance company to complain about her for refusing to do her job which she is paid to do and file an authorization for a medical procedure that I much needed.

I had explained to her why I was able to keep my previous appointments and this she did not understand and she went all Dr. Jeckal and Mr. Hyde on me.

I highly recommend that you do not deal with her. Talk with with Dr. Winkle only.

I have now changed doctors and I am very happy and I am glad to get away from the rudest staff and the attitude that I would have to put up with every time I checked into that doctors office.

I’m the wrong person to piss off because I do file lawsuits and I do complain.

  1. I am truly sad to see you go, but you deserve a rest.

I am saddened to learn the Dr. Winkle sold his practice. He has been my doctor for over 40 years. When he was able to do surgery, he removed my gall bladder. In fact, I was his last surgery ever because at the time he turned 60 and the insurance company jacked up his rates, so Dr. Winkle decided to not do surgeries any longer.

Apparently, Dr. Winkle will stay on for a while during the transition, so I hope to see him again before he retires. He was the best doctor ever. His office staff can be rude at times (Jenny), but at the same some of his hired help has been the greatest.

When people complain here, they are talking about Jenny, a New Yorker who often appears completely disorganized and lost in paperwork. If the new doctor doesn’t live up to Dr. Winkle’s standards, I will find a new family doctor after all these years. I am truly sad to see you go, but you deserve a rest.

  2. I will miss him dearly and worry what doctor can replace him with so much dedication to the medical profession and his patients.

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Winkle for over 25 years. Being he is so thorough and outstanding at follow up to monitor his patients through recovery, we felt that we were in the best of hands and continued our relationship with him.

He has worked Monday through Saturday and afterwards did his hospital rounds. By the time he got home for dinner, it was after 8 p.m. He was at his office my 9 a.m. He has an X ray machine and nebulizers (in each room).

He performs physical therapy and handles workman compensation cases as well. He had a full service practice with almost everything in house so he can get immediate findings. We are not the only family who has frequented Dr. Winkle office for many years.

He has many such patients. The only gripe I have and many of his patients have had were the waiting time to see him — at least 2 hours. However, if you weren’t feeling well, you just had to call his office and tell them can they fit you in that same day and they would squeeze you in — this is what caused the long waiting period.

Sadly, Dr. Winkle, now 81, has sold his practice and is still seeing patients until the new owners take over. Two of his sons are also doctors, Peter Winkle, a gastrologist and another an O.B. doctor. I will miss him dearly and worry what doctor can replace him with so much dedication to the medical profession and his patients.
