Dr. Payman Khorrami

Uncomfortable And Unprofessional

Dr. Payman Khorrami tried to push unnecessary tests, pills, and other doctors on me. It was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional.

Dr. Khorrami was not helpful to me at all. He tried to push a bunch of unnecessary tests on me and when I called him out on in he even admitted I probably didn’t need them and didn’t order most of the tests on me.

I needed to get blood drawn and I told them I pass out.

I have a condition called vasovagal syncope that I have had forever, and I pass out frequently because of it.

I told this to the Dr. and he told me it’s very normal and they will make sure I lay down when they draw my blood.

As I was waiting to get my blood drawn I hear the Dr say to the nurse “She gets a little light headed so just watch her”.

I told the nurse no I literally will faint so I need to lay down.

Then the Dr comes back in and says “I think we should do an EKG on you because it’s very unusual you faint and we should make sure your heart is okay.”

I understand being concerned, but literally 3 min earlier he told me it’s completely normal and nothing I have to worry about.

I also know it’s 100% normal because I have been dealing with it for over 10 years.

He then starts to comment on my skin and my hair and saying he can write me prescriptions.

I came in for a digestive issue (which was never resolved) but instead he was starting to push pills on me for things I didn’t even need.

I got my blood drawn by a nurse that must have been new because while she was doing it she said she thinks something was wrong.

Not the best thing to say to someone who passes out.

Dr. Khorrami also kept trying to force me to go to his wife as my OBGYN.

He asked me 4 times in one visit and then 2 more times in my follow up.

I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to refer a Dr. to someone that will financially benefit you.

I told him I have a OBGYN who I love and yet he kept trying to get me to go to his wife.

He then kept saying how he is going to be my Internist and that I will come to his office for everything, which I will never be doing.

When I came to my follow up appointment he said there were two more tests we could do.

I told him I didn’t want to do them. He said I probably didn’t need them but just in case he would write me a prescription for the tests.

I told him it’s not necessary and I didn’t need it but he insisted.

I left with no answers, and then 2 days later I get a message from a hospital about scheduling my test.

I told him no so many times, and he doesn’t listen,

  1. This forces the doctor to concentrate more on the ailment than the patient, but this is not at all the case with Dr Khorrami.

Dr Khorrami is one one of a very few: a physician’s physician. If the Hippocratic ideals hold true, he is the healer who upholds all that is demanded of that solemn oath, and more.

I have no doubt whatsoever the level of concern and care which he so freely dispenses to all patients would be the same that he would provide to his loved ones, and, as a patient, one cannot help but feel as if being treated with the same attention.

It is unfortunate nowadays that many patients view their doctor a simply a professional providing a professional service, constrained by protocol, rules, financial concerns and an extremely difficult workload and life-style. This forces the doctor to concentrate more on the ailment than the patient, but this is not at all the case with Dr Khorrami.

I must also compliment his most able, friendly, and efficient staff, whom Dr. Khorrami has obviously himself trained in the sensitivities and needs of all his patients.

  2. I would recommend Dr. Khorrami to absolutely anyone!

Simply put, he is the most kind, most talented, most caring doctor I believe my husband & I have ever met! If everyone were more like Dr. Khorrami the world would be a much better place.

He goes out of his way to make certain that his patients’ (and their families) needs & concerns are met. Talent, kindness, & integrity personified! I would recommend Dr. Khorrami to absolutely anyone!

  3. I advise you to stay away from this man.

I wish he would have given me warning and asked if I was ok with that before lifting my bra and exposing me like it was all normal and part of the exam. I made it clear that I was there for gastrointestinal issues! Feeling grossed out, I came home and went straight to the shower.

After this uncomfortable experience, I made an appointment with another gastroenterologist whose bedside manner was much more professional. I brought the issue up with her and told her what happened, and asked if I was being too sensitive, and if what I experienced was normal protocol.

She widened her eyes and said, “no!” She said she doesn’t even need to go under my shirt to listen to my lungs and heart, much less open my bra. She advised me to contact the Medical Board. Thinking about that experience makes me cringe. Use your judgment but if you’re a young woman, I advise you to stay away from this man.

  4. Never Again

Then, with my shirt still lifted just enough to cover the top part of my chest, he took the stethoscope and placed it underneath my unhooked bra to hear my heart. He put it in a couple of different places. Since the bra was unhooked, the bottom part of my breasts were exposed, which made me uncomfortable, but he proceeded like it was all normal protocol.

Once he was done listening to my heart, very quickly and without warning, he lifted my shirt and bra all the way up so that my breasts were completely exposed. He then proceeded to give me a breast exam with his bare hands (no gloves) and it just felt weird. He didn’t even ask me to lift my arms as you normally would in these exams.

It just felt like he was feeling me up, it felt different than when you have it done by your gyno. It put me off, specially because it was unexpected and unwarranted, by a gastroenterologist! Not what I was there for! I just laid there feeling helpless and uncomfortable while he touched me.

During our initial talk prior to the exam, I told Dr. Khorrami that I was there for bloating and abdominal discomfort. I did expect him to touch and feel my tummy during the exam.

I did not expect to get a breast exam, especially not without any warning before he swiftly lifted my unhooked bra all the way up and touched my breasts with no gloves on. I wasn’t there for a general physical exam and he knew that.

  5. Scammer

I reluctantly write this review, as I am not sure if I’ve been violated. I walked out of the appointment feeling uncomfortable, so I’m going with my gut as I write this.

I found Dr. Payman Khorrami through my insurance directory. I have been having gastrointestinal issues for quite some time and finally decided to make an appointment. He had stellar reviews on yelp so I felt confident about him.

Dr. Khorrami is a gastroentereologist and a general physician. Upon check in, I was asked if I was there for a general check up or for anything specific related to his specialty, since the deductibles I’d pay would be different depending on the reason I was there.

I made it clear that I wasn’t there for a general, but only for abdominal discomfort, hence, was charged the more expensive deductible.

  6. Bad Service Provide

TO ALL WOMEN CONSIDERING AN APPOINTMENT: Don’t believe the fabricated glowing reviews. This man is disgusting and should not have a license to practice medicine. I won’t go into detail but disguised in a mellow demeanor, there was definitely sexual misconduct on his part during the appointment.

I felt powerless and abused. Pay attention and read the other lower star reviews. Please don’t be mislead by the glowing ones, which are very likely fabricated. Horrible, uncomfortable experience. Stay away, specially if you are a young woman.

I won’t be surprised if this review is quickly drowned by a flood of fake stellar ones. I really hope that this message will prevent other women from having an experience similar to mine with this man.

  7. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!

I am writing this review late but I figured better late than never. This is in regards to my first and only appt with Dr Payman Khorrami back in March 2015. I went in for a general physical which is requested by my work. While there, he insisted on doing an EKG (I was a perfectly healthy 34 year old with no complaints).

He had me remove my shirt and then came over and undid my bra himself, letting it fall to my sides as I sat there dumbfounded. He then proceeded to stick the EKG pads all over and left me topless for the entire EKG (approx 5-8 mins). I felt shocked and ashamed.

Needless to say, I never went back. It took a few good friends to encourage me to write this review now as well as report his behavior to the medical board. WOMEN- DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!

  8. I walked out of the appointment feeling uncomfortable

I walked out of the appointment feeling uncomfortable, so I’m going with my gut as I write this. I found Dr. Payman Khorrami through my insurance directory. I have been having gastrointestinal issues for a while and decided to make an appointment.

I made it clear that I wasn’t there for a general, but only for abdominal discomfort, hence, was charged the more expensive deductible. After a quick convo where I told him about the abdominal discomfort, we went into the examination room. Just Dr. Khorrami and I, no nurse was present. He then proceeded to give me a physical, which was fine. He checked my ears, eyes and tonsils.

  9. Except now I know without a doubt that his conduct was unacceptable

I posted this review a while ago through an account created anonymously and was very angry to find that yelp had hidden it. Unfortunately, it seems like the string of stellar reviews keep coming on and women are still falling prey to this man, in great part, thanks to the largely fake reviews here (as was the case with me). Please pay attention to the lower starred reviews and you will see a pattern of what the real deal is.

I created another account now, just to repost my previous review, and will make a point to review other things, just to make sure yelp’s algorithm will post it. I sincerely hope, that if nothing is done to prevent this man from practicing, that at least,

young women considering an appointment will see this and stay away. This is the review I posted a while ago, which was hidden by yelp. Except now I know without a doubt that his conduct was unacceptable
