Dr. Nancy Zises
She Does Not Have Good Bedside MannerDr. Nancy Zises was my child’s (first) pediatrician for a couple months before we switched to another pediatrician with PAMF.
I share very similar experiences with another reviewer.
Based on her PAMF reviews and bio, I thought she would be a good fit for our family and I was under the impression she would be a kind doctor.
I would say my expectations were pretty standard/average. However, this was not the case for our experience.
Upon meeting her for the first time at the hospital the day after my son was born, I had a generally positive opinion of her.
In later appointments while my son was a newborn, I found her tone and overall energy demeaning and judgmental.
I believe this is the furthest from what you hope to experience as a first-time parent with a newborn.
I brought my mother, mother in law, and friend (who also had a newborn at the time) with me to appointments to see if I was being sensitive and letting my postpartum hormones affect my perspective.
I was assured by all three, I was not and they also formed negative opinions of her care and demeanor.
I was hospitalized soon after delivery due to complications, and she was insensitive about that as well.
I found another PAMF pediatrician I am very happy with.
Additionally, she performed my son’s circumcision at the hospital after he was born.
My son just turned one and I’ve had multiple opinions by medical professionals including a urologist, and my son will need a procedure done (under anesthesia) to correct his circumcision.
I understand things happen and you can’t expect perfection, but I am unhappy about this.
When I brought it up during each appointment, she told me it was nothing to worry about.
Two stars because it is a nice facility and the reception staff and medical assistants are kind.
She seems knowledgeable but she does not have good bedside manner or deliver quality patient care.
I would specifically urge first time parents of newborns to look elsewhere.
