Dr. Jay Gladstein

Doctors And Staff Are Always Changing

I’ve been holding back to write this, but it’s probably good to inform people. I used to really love Dr. Jay Gladstein’s office, but they’ve had many changes and have been merging with other companies and/or expanding.

Doctors and staff are always changing as well. It’s an interesting revolving door. Anyway…not the point of my review.

After I was charged a “consultation fee” for simply answering normal/routine questions asked by Dr. Gladstein about my personal life, I decided this isn’t about helping people or having conversation to provide good customer service, but finding sneaky ways to benefit financially or otherwise.

I’m usually an easy patient. I do my annual blood tests, chit chat, and I want to get out and on with my life.

Be careful with how you answer his questions during a “consult” – he will sneak in that consultation fee or even notify your other medical services (like my self-employed disability insurance) about any minor thing and affect your coverage.

When I found out what he reported to them, I was extremely disappointed.

I had NO idea that talking about my day or work routine as a small business entrepreneur with the doctor could backfire in such a way.

I asked a few doctor friends about this “consultation fee,” they all disagreed with it.

One even called it unethical. My health insurance company also agreed that it was a weird charge, and disputed the charge on my behalf.

Through my new doctor, I’m learning disappointing things that have been wrong or off with my recent visits with Dr. Gladstein.

Glad it’s over, but now I have other issues to deal with based on his communications with other 3rd parties about my health that actually were just situational and not worth noting, in my opinion.

Thankfully my new doctor is writing a letter to help me.

  1. Glad to have him a s my doctor.

Dr. Jay Gladstein is a great doctor. He is patient, a good listener, and willing to try different methods and meds to see what works best for the patient. Glad to have him a s my doctor.

  2. Scammer

The doctor and his staff have examined me three times in a six-month period. He had three examinations and at least three blood tests in my folder, not including what my previous doctor had given him, which was also there.

He called me on the phone to tell me he was uncomfortable filling out the form. He said I was asking him to jeopardize his medical license at the expense of my driver’s license. When he told me this I almost fell on the floor with my phone.

  3. Its a scam.

These above glowing reviews strike me as a bit odd. Ultimately this was not the experience I received from Dr. Gladstein and his office. I was skeptical of Dr. Gladstein from the beginning. I only stayed with him for six months because it was his PA, Bruce Hinton who was aces.

After three appointments with Dr. Gladstein in a six-month period, of which I saw him only once, the other one time of which he didn’t stay to leave the rest of the appointment to Bruce, I ultimately must report my disappointment with him and his office.

The reason I didn’t leave one star is because while overall Dr. Gladstein seems to be a decent doctor, the doctor’s work ethic and his staff’s ineptitude leaves much to be desired. Hear me out, as I’m really not that difficult to please:

  4. I felt like a dog at a shelter...

As a new patient, I’d waited a month to see Gladstein…I arrived 1/2 hour early to fill out paperwork…at the time of my appt., the nurse took me in, did usual tests, then put me into an exam room where I waited…and waited…and waited…after 45 minutes,

I walked out…later, Dr. Gladstein called: “I apologize, we’re busy today!” …I said, “Ok, but why couldn’t someone say so? Why didn’t someone offer me the option to come back at a later date? I can be reasonable” … I felt like a dog at a shelter…

  5. not sure who wrote all these sparkling profiles but that's not the doctor i saw.

after waiting for 30 minutes to see him, he rushed me through a 15 minute physical ignoring my questions and complaining about how bad my insurance is.

i pay $600.00 a month to a california provider so not sure what his beef is.
the staff was clueless and non responsive.
