I just had surgery done by Dr. Gordon Tang. I would never refer anyone to him. He has no bedside manners and is very condescending to his patients. When he asked me how I was feeling , he really does not care to know the truth

He does not want to know that you are having any pain or discomfort because then it becomes your fault because his surgery was perfect and you are just too sensitive and over anxious. When I told him I had gotten some relieve of pain ,

he was very surprised. He told me that he had not expect any kind of results from my surgery. If he felt that surgery was not going to help me than he should have told me this before he put me through this ordeal and not after he receives his money from the insurance company.

Dr.Gordon Tang if you feel you are done with a patient once you do surgery on them , then why is there a post op period and why should people go back to see you after surgery when you really do not give a Damn

  1. Dr. Tang gets my highest reviews.

Dr. Tang gets my highest reviews. I had previously gone to another surgeon and the experience was as different as night and day. Dr. Tang’s staff immediately saw the great pain I was in and allowed me to lay flat in an extra room while I waited for the doctor. When he arrived he took all the time in the world to listen to my description of the problem.

THEN he reviewed the MRI and explained in great detail how each aspect of my pain was related to what the MRI pictures showed. He next explained in great (and simple) detail what the surgery would entail and hopefully accomplish. After I agreed that surgery was the only alternative at this point, he worked very hard to get me in as quickly as possible, making several calls to see if he could schedule me for the next day.

When he was not able to get me in earlier, he called me personally at my home and apologized. One week later, on the day of the surgery, he again was willing to spend lots of time with me and explain everything in detail. When I awoke in the recovery room, my intense leg pain was GONE.

  2. I have the highest regard and respect for Dr. Tang and would highly recommend him for any spinal issues.

+I had a decompression surgery (L-4 , L-5, and S-1) last January (2018). In December, Dr. Tang spent an hour and 15 minutes reviewing my MRI, comparing with a plastic model. He thoroughly explained my options and expectations for both a decompression surgery and a fusion surgery. My “incident” happened in late October(2017) when all of a sudden,

I could not walk. I had to have 24/7 care. I was better after two epidurals, but not fully functioning. I made an appointment with Dr. Tang and he ordered an MRI. I chose the less invasive decompression surgery. After two months, I was walking pain-free with trekking poles. It has been six months and although I am not a 100% but I can do most activities I was doing before.

  3. He removed a tumor lodged in my spine.

He removed a tumor lodged in my spine. Positives: 1) he did a good job on the surgery–the excruciating pain that caused my referral to him has completely disappeared; 2) he was willing to admit he was wrong with his initial recommendation after he reviewed an older MRI–he changed his opinion and scheduled me for surgery.

Negatives: 1) not the best bedside manner in the world–comes across as somewhat arrogant and appears not to listen well; 2) gives off a hurried/rushed vibe during office visits and in the hospital; 3) seemed to rush to judgment w/ my initial diagnosis but, as noted above, changed his recommendation once he had add’l information.

  4. you did not care in the least.

You’re a superstar. Sad that i failed you in having emotions from chronic pain – and then your unprofessional lashing out at me – saying i refused to have surgery is perposterous!

INSULTING and demeaning to me – and i’m ill. You are Blessed though, Dr. Tang – so ride HIGH ON THE WAVE!
