Dr. Arkady Gendelman

He Will Not Give You Very Much Time

Although at first Dr. Arkady Gendelman seemed very interested in helping my spinal problems and ankle injury he as since let me down.

I rcvd an MRI which showed and stated a ruptured disc leaking into the spinal canal and pinching my left sciatic nerve.

When I attempted to show these results to Dr. Arkady Gendelman he refused to look at them and stated he does not know how to review these records.

When I requested a referral to a spine surgeon he at first complied but then refused telling me that these “back problems” will get better by themselves and that surgery is not the answer.

Dr Gendelman then issued me pain and nerve medication.

When I found that my referral was never placed I had to contact hm again to tell him to put the reffarl thru.

When he finally did he then cancelled all my medications (Im assuming this was because I did not do as he wanted) So I have been left with a ruptured disc, severe pain, burning, numbness, in my legs and no interest further from this doctor.

When I asked why my medications was cut off he said he wanted me to make appointments with his pain management doctors.

I want this problem fixed, I do not want to live with it, I do not want to stay on medication or “wait” to see if my ruptured disc heals on its own and I sure as hell do not deserve to be talken off the medications he started just because I need to see a surgeon.

I was not handled correctly by this doctor and I have since changed primary doctors and rcvd my referral to UCSF spine clinic where I will be undergoing spinal fusion surgery.

If I had waited I would have eventually lost motor function in my leg.

I made all this perfectly clear to Dr Gendelman to which he refuses do anything about.

Although he wanted me to make more appointments with him he has not helped my condition and instead as enabled me to prolong my problems.

Have all your records and write ups ready when/if you still see this doctor because he will not give you very much time and instead will tell you what to do even after you know what you need.

I origanally went to him for help and I did not rcv it. I will not see this doctor again.

  1. Great doctor

    Great doctor, very comprehensive

  2. I tried really hard to like him previously, but that was the final straw.

I tried really hard to like him previously, but that was the final straw. Done. I found a much better doctor, more knowledgeable and she listens to what I have to say and answers all my questions without making me feel rushed. I would never recommend him to anyone.

The only positive thing I do have to say is that his receptionist is wonderful and very pleasant. She has always returned my calls promptly. It is easy to make an appointment here, because all of Dr. Mendle’s patients have left, so the patient load has dramatically decreased. I lived 1 block away so he was convenient, but now my doc is at my work and just 1 floor below me!

  3. Scammer

I would not put a star at all, but it required me to put something up there. I also was a patient of Dr. Mendle’s. I have been going to that office for almost 10 years. Dr. Mendle was AMAZING. I am a health care professional and Dr. Mendle and myself had a great patient/doctor relationship. When my care was transferred to Dr. Gendelman,

I was ok with it until I had my first appointment with him. I take medication for particular ailments, medications I have been on for years and perfectly happy with my regimen. He tried to change my medications around to newer drugs, making me feel like a drug rep had just been in to visit.

If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. He always seems rushed and I feel like he pushes you out the door. I will even forget questions I wanted to ask because he is so abrupt and always in a hurry (and the office is NOT busy).
