BEWARE!!! There’s nothing as useless as an inaccurate accountant. I paid Mr. Diaz-Christians to do my income tax return as well as my father’s return.
He presented the completed returns to me, supposedly ready for filing. Between the two returns there were TWELVE serious mistakes.
These included arithmetic errors, cut-and-paste errors, and a couple of errors where Mr. Diaz-Christians’ employee declared “Oh, I thought the software took care of that”!
I originally agreed to pay his price so that I would not have to do all the tax calculations myself.
I had to do them myself anyway, so that I could check his work and find all his errors.
Did I mention the ARITHMETIC ERRORS? I brought a calculator and showed his employee how the numbers worked.
I asked how she came up with a different (wrong) number. She said “I have no idea, but I like your numbers better.”
The whole freakin’ premise of being an accountant is that you accurately count people’s beans for them.
Since no one at the Diaz-Christians agency is willing or able to count beans, I strongly recommend that they find another line of work.
