I’ve had my taxes prepared for the past 15 years at Jackson Hewitt. I was referred to Cube Tax by a dear friend. I made an appointment for February 13 @ 9:15 am with Lara.
Taxes were prepared correctly. Later that day I realized I forgot an additional W2, at the house which needed to filed as well.
I called Cube Tax, explained my issue. I dropped the additional W2 off, in order to file an Amended Return.
I paid my fee and my Amended Return was given to me. Once settled at home I began reviewing my Return and noticed one of the line items didn’t add up.
The next day I had a friend / coworker who’s also a CPA look over my Amended Return.
There was an error made. I called Cube Tax asked for Lara but she was with a client.
Explained there had been an error made and I needed my paperwork to be reviewed/ corrected.
After leaving a couple messages and no calls were returned, I drove to Cube Tax. My tax preparer ( Lara ) was busy, so another female assisted me.
I explained the totals weren’t adding up and I wasn’t getting credit for an amount.
The error was confirmed by the tax preparer, which was a $100 difference owed to the IRS.
It was explained there was an issue with the computer software populating one of the boxes on my Amended.
The female that confirmed the error apologized, but no apology from Lara, the initial tax preparer was given.
Since my paperwork was incorrect, I thought at least half if not all of the fee I paid for my “Amended Return” should’ve been reimbursed to me or offered.
I sent an email to Frank Dustin , the owner informing him of the issue I had.
To this day I haven’t received a reply from Frank regarding my email or an apology from Lara.
Since I wasn’t valued as a customer, that was the First and Last time l used Cube Tax.
