This questionably-legitimate business seems to mostly function as a facilitator for drug deals and prostitution. The lot supposedly used for monthly parking often has more addicts and vagrants in the lot than cars.
The lot owners don’t maintain the lot so it is overgrown with with weeds that drift into neighboring properties.
The gravel from the lot is sharp, and strewn all over the sidewalks so those with dogs, heels, dress shoes, etc, can’t use the adjoining sidewalks.
A homeless camp with chairs and tents was on the property last I checked, with active drug addicts brazenly popping pills and drinking in public in broad daylight. They’ve been doing it for years, so the property owner is clearly complacent.
After attempting to contact the business to rent a spot and discuss the safety issues, I was put on hold and my number apparently blocked. The sign on the lot lists Crystal as the owner and the BBB sourced the posted phone number back to Crystal Construction Services LLC. However, DC’s tax lookup shows this lot’s owner has a mailing address of 9921 MAYFIELD DR; BETHESDA MD20817. It’s being taxed at about a tenth of it’s actual value. If there was a better example of a blighted property owned by someone looking to dodge the system, I’d be hard pressed to think one up.
