Credit Union of Colorado

Wast of Time

So I leave early to work to make a shared branch deposit, find Credit Union of Colorado, and politely stand in line for 10 minutes while the teller chats away with some ghetto dude about his life problems.

He finally finishes and she tells me they don’t do other credit union branch deposits but I can use the ATM in the hallway.

I go through the entire transaction and then it tells me my checking account card does not work with ATM deposits.

Thanks for wasting my valuable time.

For those of us working multiple jobs 7 days a week sure is hard to get what should be an easy task done.

  1. but it's why they are losing this customer.

Even being a long time customer of this Credit Union – over 10 years (for what it’s worth)….they still take every possible petty opportunity to gouge you with added on fees. In a recent example – I deposited 2 checks with their mobile banking app – seemed pretty simple – but what I failed to realize is….that $ isn’t available.

You can deposit 1000’s of $…but what you can actually use is just a couple hundred. Then, when your using your debit card – you racking up NSF fees….no because there’s no $ in the account – but rather because the credit union puts a hold on any mobile deposit. I don’t know if all banks do this – probably – but it’s why they are losing this customer.

  2. Bad Service.

This credit union has changed drastically over the last couple of years. Two separate “customer service” reps displayed rude, shaming behavior when i inquired about a service i used to have–they were totally on the defense, instead of just saying they would help me see what happened. i feel totally sad that Credit Union of CO could not come up to the plate when they were being thrown the perfect pitch. Stay away from this one.

  3. Horrible customer service!

Horrible customer service! I hope you don’t treat all your customers the way I was treated when I stepped foot into your branch, which by the way, was my first and definitely going to be my last!

  4. Very disappointed.

Went in to open account Golden location. They said they were to busy and said I would have to come back Friday or Saturday and make an appointment which I could not do. I was in at 4:14 they close at 6. So I have to find a different bank in Golden as I wanted a Golden location. Have not heard of a bank that turns away new customers. Very disappointed.

  5. I'm using this bank to pay rent then closing my accounts, here's why.

This is just the last two weeks, I’ve had many other problems, the biggest being last November when they thought they could place a 7 day hold on $6,400 of a 9,200 deposit.

I had to threaten to come down to 14th & Logan to withdraw all my money and close my account as soon as the deposit cleared the Fed before a manager released the funds. A 7 DAY HOLD ON $6400!!!!

Technologically this credit union is in the stone age and their internet presence is pitiful and aggravating.

Everytime you call you are sent to a call center and I’m usually on hold for 10 minutes before they get a human on the line. YOU CANNOT CALL A GIVEN BRANCH AND TALK TO AN EMPLOYEE/MANAGER AT THAT LOCATION!

  6. Scammer

The ATM ate over 800 dollars of mine today. Now I’m having to dispute is, and I’m getting evicted because of it.

  7. I was hoping this would be a positive experience.

I was hoping this would be a positive experience. I had heard great things about this place. I switched over from a regular bank which had botched up a deposit and then tried to fault me for it. I paid the balance in full, and without any notice, CUofCO revokes all of my mobile banking rights, which is the only reason I switched to them because one of their branches is close to my house.

I called to inquire as to WTH was going on, and they explained that since a previous bank had dinged my credit for not paying for THEIR mistake in 30 days they were obliged to strip me of my mobile banking rights without notice to me, the account holder, and told me that my account would be reviewed in SIX MONTHS to see if my account was “ideal enough” ie: (full of $$$ & no overdrafts) to resume my mobile banking rights.

I said fine, I was going through too much at the time to even worry about shutting my account down after that nonsense, even though it’s fairly worthless to me atm, and I already have another banking account, with a bank that isn’t lousy with notification of procedure.
