Coulter Buick GMC Tempe

No needs to go to this one and be treated so poorly.

I stopped in the other day to see about how to remove the passager side head rest from my 2014 Buick Encore as it blocks about half of the passanger rear widow giving me a pretty large blind spot when backing out, the accessory manager Bill S. Told me the manufacturer makes it so they can not be removed for safety reasons during an accident. I told that made sense but unfortunately they cause me to not be able to see when backing out. If then told me I was driving incorrectly and that I need to get the little stick on mirrirs to add to my side mirrors. I advised him I’ve used them before but they will not assist me bc they will not allow me to see what is being blocked by the headrest, I even showed him what I was talking about thinking it was just a misunderstanding.

He continued to tell me that I do mot need to turn and loo out the passanger rear side mirror. I informed him I am 37 and have been driving since I was 16 and that I don’t need a driving lesson. He wanted to continue to agrue with me about and I kept telling him I know how to drive. I requested his manager. I spoke (used loosely) Denny Yates who had no interest in hearing what I had to say at all. I informed him last I checked this was a car dealership and not a driving school and that he needs to inform his employees of this. He was speaking with me in a very raised voice and told me he (Bill) probably knows that now, I told him should have already known that given his age and should go over with Bill what is and is not in his job description.

I told him I didn’t know if it was a sexist thing or not (I’m a woman) with Bill but I did not appreciate his unsolicited driving lesson. Denny continued to speak with me in a raised voice and I advised him of such but he never lowered his voice and continued to defend Bill. I told him I would never have anything to do with this dealership ever again. My father who was a witness to everything told Denny as we were leaving that I wasn’t wrong and walked out after me. At that point Denny came out the door lended over the handicap rail to yell at me some more bc he heard me tell my father to come on that Denny had his mind made up before he even spoke with that his employee was right and didn’t care what I had to say.

As Denny leaned over the rail he yelled asking how he wasn’t listening to me at which I pointed out how he had been yelling at me from the beginning and only wanted to defend his employee not listen to what happened. He then turned and went back into the service area. There are plenty of other dealerships in the valley and certainly other Buick dealerships that no needs to go to this one and be treated so poorly.

  1. Coulter Buick GMC Tempe Is Bad Service.

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had trying to buy a vehicle. Everyone that communicated with me said they were a Sales Manager? They didn’t even know their inventory. Couldn’t put a deal together combining all their minds.

Most vehicle dealerships want to try to sell their inventory. This place is way too proud of what they have and discourage purchase. They create ways to prevent purchase, as opposed to helping customers make it easy to buy from them.

Great place to go if you don’t want your questions answered and want to be ripped off. Better yet, just stay away from. Don’t waste your time!

  2. I wish I could give negative stars

I wish I could give negative stars…..I stopped in the other day to see about how to remove the passager side head rest from my 2014 Buick Encore as it blocks about half of the passanger rear widow giving me a pretty large blind spot when backing out, the accessory manager Bill S. Told me the manufacturer makes it so they can not be removed for safety reasons during an accident. I told that made sense but unfortunately they cause me to not be able to see when backing out.

  3. Would never go back here to buy a vehicle

Would never go back here to buy a vehicle. Looked at a vehicle, the salesman couldn’t find the keys or know anything about it, found another vehicle we liked and the same thing, salesman didn’t know what was going on with this vehicle either. Instead he kept telling us stupid stories about his life. Bottom line 3 days later I get an answer from Stephan telling me the vehicle was sold. My bet it was bought by someone who works there.

  4. I would never ever refer this dealer to anyone, nor would I ever go back there ever again for anything!!!

Called and scheduled an appt for recall service on drivers power seat on Buick Regal, my appt was for 8:30 am, I arrived at the dealer at 8:10am, sat and waited until 8:55am for the service advisor to check in my car. When I scheduled the appt,

asked for a ride to and from my work which about 5 miles from the dealer, sat and waited until 9:35am for the driver to take me to my work. Got a call from the service advisor about 1:15pm saying they dont actually have the parts to fix the recall and I would have to bring the car back some time next week when parts come in.

  5. Not going back.

I asked them to change a light out on my car, because it is almost burned out and I wanted to get the problem fixed before I was driving with one headlight. Instead, they changed a different one and claimed there was nothing wrong with it.

I also needed a new key made, and they didn’t explain that would make the first key not work anymore. In short, they’re trying to get me to come in and spend money when they should have done things right the first time. Not going back.

  6. professionalism and a hassle-free car experience.

Coulter Tempe has helped me on numerous occassions. Whether I was looking for a new automobile, or taking mine in for service, their staff is friendly, helpful and completely professional. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality, professionalism and a hassle-free car experience.

  7. Scammer

This is an email I sent to Dan Vlcek on 10/16 in response to “Loyalty must be earned” email and I have yet to hear back from him….

I was very disappointed that I picked up my car in the same condition it was in when I dropped it off.

I mentioned that I took my vehicle down to Auto Zone for them to check and see which code triggered my check engine light to come on. It was the cam shaft position actuator which I bought and replaced.

My vehicle coded again after a day. I decided to go ahead and drop it off at Coulter just in case Auto Zone didn’t know what they were talking about.

  8. Terrible service and terrible "luxury" vehicles!!

Terrible service and terrible “luxury” vehicles!! We had our Cadillac serviced here in January for an overheating issue at *only* 37,000 miles. A water pump was replaced for around $800 and we were told the car is good to go. A mere 3 weeks later the car started overheating again so we took it back in to them.

This time they told us the engine blocks melted and we need a new engine for $9,000!!!! When we started asking questions about how this could have happened, pointing out that they were the last ones to touch the car’s engine, etc, the first service technician was incredibly rude and condescending to us.

  9. I can get crappy service anywhere and not pay a premium for it.

Zero stars if I could. I was a first time Cadillac buyer and was always under the impression that Coulter was the premiere dealership to buy from. Boy was that reputation a farce. I have never taken the time or cared enough to post a message like this publicly until now….buyer beware.

Boy did the sales staff do a dog and pony show telling me about how great their service is, but wow they really fell flat on their face when they were called out on it. About a month after my purchase I called Angie Benjamin (Assistant Service Manager) to schedule service on my vehicle.

  10. Dont use this.

FYI, just did my 16th major repair on my crappy 09 Acadia which I purchased new, it’s now being sold. What pieces of crap and nobody wants to help you out. Punishment enough, I’m outa here from a GM/GMC purchaser/owner since the late 70’s.

It’s said the definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results NO MORE. I’m done and anybody I know has been warned through the years, my friends family won’t touch them

  11. This is all after the ripoff when I bought the car...

Had my vehicle towed in for an overheating issue. Dealership found it was a thermostat and was replaced as well as a coolant flush. I picked up the vehicle, went to the gas station. When I opened the hood, I noticed all the plastic under the engine was missing. I called the service advisor and stopped back at the dealership. The advisor said he couldn’t find it and would talk to the tech and would call me back the next day. No call back, so I called back the day after.

The advisor said the tech said the plastic was not installed. I told him I guarantee it was installed. The advisor said he’ll escalate it to the service manager, and said he didn’t care would just order it. I still have not received a call back to resolve the issue. I’ve made a few attempts to talk to the advisor.

  12. That is so wrong and POOR POOR business!

I am a female and I brought my Buick into this dealership because my car was slightly overheating. I wanted an oil change but also brought up to them that the car seemed to be running a little hot. After and hour they gave me a laundry list of about 10 things adding up to $5,000 (thousand) and tried to put the fear of God in me if I drove it off the lot not repaired.

I declined their list and they added water to my radiator then charged me 40 dollars for the oil change even though after all that list I said don’t do the oil change I have bigger problems according to you so they did not do the oil change and told me the 40 bucks was for looking at the car.

  13. Which experience would you prefer?

Our salesman was courteous and friendly, he deserves the star, the rest of the experience was valued at negative stars, so one star is the best they deserve. We had decided to purchase a new Denali, and wanted to qualify for the zero interest loan incentive.

The Finance manager was very rude and abrasive. She was derogatory with her comments and it was clear she hates her job. She didn’t even let us know if we qualified or the score of our credit rating. I told the salesperson, who could do nothing. I called and emailed the GM, and he failed to respond for weeks.

  14. Oh and Karen in Service is the best EVER!

Tim, Al, and Kelly made buying vehicle number 4 here as easy and comfortable as the first three! Their attention to our needs and concern to make sure they meet our expectations are amazing!

They speak the truth, say what they mean, and walk their talk! WE trust Coulter and plan to continue to buy all of our family vehicles here! Thanks Tim, Al, and Kelly! Oh and Karen in Service is the best EVER!

  15. Customer service all around is phenomenal at this dealership and the mechanics know their stuff and I trust them!

I know dealerships can be a little more pricey with fixes and maintenance but I won’t take my Enclave anywhere else besides Coulter and it starts with my service advisor Angie Benjamin.

Angie is kind and honest and has NEVER pressured me. She has always taken care of us with our LaCrosse and now our Enclave. Customer service all around is phenomenal at this dealership and the mechanics know their stuff and I trust them!
