I was looking out for a job change and was checking for options. It was then I came across the opening for marketing department at Coaster Group. I was from the marketing domain and a real estate company would not have made any difference. So, without delay, I called them.
They told me that they will be conducting a telephonic interview 2 days later. I was waiting for the call and was really looking forward to it. I did get a call and the interview went awesome. The lady on the phone asked me to wait for 2 weeks. But, they never called. I dialed their number to check about the update. The receptionist informed me that they misplaced my resume.
She apologised and told me that I will have to go through the same round with another employee as the one interviewed me had left the company. So, the call came after 2 days and I was again given 2 weeks’ time.
The same story again. Didn’t get any update. I visited that company without any information. I was too furious and because of their delays, my other decision related to jobs were pending. It was very unprofessional.
The lady at the reception told me that she would be arranging an interview at the office right away and informed that the lady who took my interview for the second time had also left. I was confused and did not understand why the attrition rate was too high when internet shared a completely different story.
I had checked earlier on internet and the employee’s satisfaction rate was about 100%. It was surprising. However, I gave the interview. I was lucky to find someone known at the office. I asked him with the information to clear my doubt. His update really pissed me off.
I told him the entire interview history. He did not seem surprised at all. As if it was normal there for people to leave company like that. He informed me that Costar Group was a liar and they never give what they promise. He told me about the work culture and various other things that disturbed me a lot.
Costar Group pays less and their bonus and other incentive system sucked. He was also planning to leave and was trying somewhere else. He said that they did not have any HR and the company’s employees took turns for interviewing people.
He also suggested that they are con artists under the name of real estate business. They actually are no more than telemarketers. That was the reason why people leave early.
I was really angry after listening to all that and this report will help many others who are planning to quit their old company for this Costar Group. Thank god, I was saved.
