Consolidated Credit

Consolidated Credit Counselling never credited my payments to Cr

I heard about this ‘not for profit’, Consolidated Credit Counseling Services which lies about its arrangements with Better Business Bureau. So, I connected with them as I was in huge debts and wanted someone to help me with my payments.

When I started using them, I did not realize that they were taking away $10 from the payments I made and were using that to subscribe me to a benefit program that offered certain benefits and restaurants and joints.

I was never informed about that subscription and because of that, I was falling short in paying the bills and was getting late fee added up to the actual amount. I called them and they asked me to provide them a letter stating that I was the subscription to be disconnected.

I did as ask for. I thought they would have taken me out of the list. But, that was not the case. I was still on that subscription list after 5 months from sending that letter to the company.

So, I stopped using their services and opted for some real credit card companies. After this, I asked every places to provide me with the statement of the payments made after I connected my accounts with CCCS. I sent all kinds of communication from fax to mail for sending me the statements, but they did not send anything.

Everything was messed up. The companies who sent me the statements were going to take actions as most of them never received any payment. I had to ask them for compromising things and I had to pay for that as a late fee payment.

In total, I sent this company a total of $1000 and they only disbursed 1/4 th of the amount credited to them. This was not getting anywhere and if I would have been stuck with this company, I would have been in huge debts. I did take some time to act, but I saved much of my stress.

There was a bill sent to the medical expense. They were receiving $20 monthly and when CCCS started sending them the payments, it lowered it to $13 and adjusted the payment to pay the doctor while I was sending separate bills for both the expenses.

Hence, I started getting all late payment charges and my debt, instead of coming down, surged to even higher limit which was difficult to pay.

That is when I consulted a different company to help me with this mess. Since then, things have been under control. There are no hidden charges and unnecessary blind subscriptions. I am getting monthly statements and I know what I am paying to my creditors.

CCCS had the drawback that they never generated any statement. After I disconnected my services from CCCS, they sent me the statement that had all those errors and some mismatched information that I received from individual creditors.

What would you call this? We all know this is nothing different than a fraud. I believe CCCS is not a non-profit company but a scammer who only works for money.
