This company sells “to the trade” in multiple locations around the U.S.
As of autumn 2008, it appears that this company is in some amount of financial distress. That is the only way I can explain the evasiveness and duplicity in their dealings with me over the last three months. In an e-mail a few weeks ago, an employee admitted the company was undergoing “restructuring.” Fortunately, I had placed my (extensive) purchase on my Visa platinum card. Visa investigated and has refunded my money. I have not heard any more from the company since Visa returned my money.
It’s a shame. I was really looking forward to this furniture. If the company had just been a little more honest, instead of telling me seven different times that the furniture “had been shipped” or “will be shipped on Friday” or will be ready “in a week” or “two weeks tops”, I would have been willing to work with them. There is a lesson there, merchants. Honesty trumps all.
