Champion Windows

Champion is an unprofessional and irresponsible company

I am a veteran with 90% physical disability. My wife and I are frequently ill and doctor have prescribed us for aquatic therapy. Our insurance does not cover the therapy and it is expensive too. Hence, we decided to build aquatic therapy pool inside the house. Also, my wife suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and to make her use it during cold weather, we wanted to enclose it.

For the same reason, we contacted Champion and got into a contract with them. We hired it to construct a sunroom that could control the climate inside in winters. So, I paid them $2100 as advance. I also had to provide them the deck as per the local code to build the sunroom. I already had the deck as per local code. However, Champion wanted to rebuild it as per their specification.

They gave me a local county building permit and asked me to use it for getting the deck build. In good faith, I did what they said. I demolished my deck and got the one as per their instruction. At first, they told me to change the structure of the deck and not the plans. I did and demolished the deck for building the new one.

Later, they told me that they normally over engineer the plan and the changes were not required. It was fine the way it was earlier. While constructing the deck, my contractor was confused and asked about the number for the floor joist because as height of the deck was lower as per their plan. The contractor tried to outline that factor, but Champion told that the height was fine.

After the deck was built for the second time, the inspection failed because of the lowered height of the deck. The county told us that they would require to be pressure treated. After all these mistakes, they asked me for $35 for windows that they installed. Then they asked me for $400 for asbestos, a test that was mandatory as per them.

They never made any tests and also did not install one of the windows. When I was burdened with the debts, I asked them to share the cost that was incurred because of their negligence and also requested to deduct the asbestos test fee that was never done from the final cost.

Instead of resolving the issue, Champion quit. It gave us our deposit back and left us with unnecessary costs. We are still not able to get the sunroom installed and are still incurring the cost to mitigate the damage done. I spent on other architecture to design the room again.

Because of Champion, I have incurred a lot of fees and still no close to get the room installed. Champions are the worst company in the market and scammed us in good faith. If you have already got into a contract with them, keep an eye. Otherwise, look for other option.

I’ve been in the construction industry for 40 years, I’ve never met a more incapable company in my life, Installed windows broke one, I’ve been waiting 3months for them to replace it, meanwhile I have have shards of glass hanging, lawsuit?

  2. The Worst Comapny

I tried 10 times calling their number but they don’t answer your calls!! Terrible business.

  3. Champion is a scam

‘Disappointed’ would be a small word for the inconvenience this company put us through. The sales was good and was supportive. He showed us the pictures and presented the deal in a great way that we could not deny his proposal.

After we paid, they made us suffer and call them ten times in a day to schedule the installation. Sometimes, they would call anytime apart from the mentioned time. My husband and I work and I told that sales person about it. We even took a day off, but they did not show up.

I had to threaten them to sue and then they finally took care of the installation. However, since the time they fixed the glasses, it has always been a pain with all kinds of leaks and other problems.

I am totally dissatisfied by their service and work they did at my place and won’t recommend it to anyone.

  4. Champion review

I installed champion windows few years ago. I did not compare the prices and was happy to give away what they asked. I thought they were nice as the sales person was decent and was prompt. After few days of installation, I came to know that they charged me way more than other companies.

When I asked the sales guy, he flaunted about their product and told that there won’t be any problems. I took his words until recently I came to know that it was all lie. He sugar coated everything and tried to be nice.

But, whatever he did was a scam. He charged me extra bugs to fix a window that wasn’t good for even a year. The same year, I started having trouble and its been two years and there is one or the other issue. Sometimes, with the frame and sometimes with the glass.

The worst part is,their customer service won’t respond easily. I have to make tons of calls to get them at my place. The company is a waste and the attitude is even worse.
