California Pacific Medical Center

No Responce

I’ve been trying to schedule an appointment for aquatic physical therapy for the past 3 days with California Pacific Medical Center. I’ve left messages with the general physical therapy line, the aquatic director Judy, even the general service managers Cynthia Kim and Taylor Ray and I’ve heard nothing.

It’s not as though this is a restaurant or a hotel, this is and the fact that they don’t have the decency to return calls “within 24 business hours” as their answering machines say is reprehensible.

I would gladly turn to another facility but there aren’t any apparently! I don’t know what to do…. it’s already been a week since my last session and my
shoulder is getting tighter by the minute. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  1. with what my insurance company would cover.

I must say, that when I spoke with Tatiana, she kept repeating to me that I wold have a co-pay & she wanted to make sure I could afford that. I told her that not only could I handle that, but my Blue Cross Insurance plan must be billed in advance & then they would advise me as to exactly what my co-pay is, based on their contract with the medical office.

She then informed me that my plan had declined the in-house hotel setup & that only the home study plan was approved. Again, I informed her, that my insurance never declines anything & that she was mistaking what my Dr had advised me to do, with what my insurance company would cover.

  2. we had a few nurses that we couldn't understand,

We were very displeased with the conditions of the hospital, I believe San Francisco is still in America but you wouldn’t know it by the staff, we had a few nurses that we couldn’t understand,

we had no idea if the feminine male nurses had been screened at all prior to touching new born children, if you are a fan of third world countries, this is the hospital for you, if you have American values, this isn’t the place for you.

  3. Now they're telling me they don't have a referral.

It’s been 2 1/2 weeks, and I keep getting the run-around! Now they’re telling me they don’t have a referral.

  4. Trying to make an appointment is somewhere between a comedy and a nightmare.

Trying to make an appointment is somewhere between a comedy and a nightmare. I was referred to another number where — when I did finally reach a person — I was referred back to the original number. I got put on hold multiple times until I finally give up and hang up.

I got switched to voicemail where I leave a message to call me back, and no one ever calls back. This is the most labyrinthine and incompetent appointment desk that I have ever encountered… unless the whole purpose of this appointment system is to discourage anyone from making an appointment.

  5. Echo everyone else on the review board about the appointment process.

Echo everyone else on the review board about the appointment process. This place is worse than the US Postal Office in terms of customer service. It is one thing to be busy and kick patients into voicemail immediately, but they leave you on hold for 20 minutes each time, then kick you into voicemail after waiting for so long.

This has happened to me 4 times over a week period, without a single callback. This location is so ideal, which is why I haven’t sought out another PT option. Unfortunately, I am so appalled at how badly this place is run that it’s best I go elsewhere. Whomever manages this particular location clearly has no clue how to run a business.

  6. DO NOT GO HERE.

DO NOT GO HERE. I just found out I was billed $2400 for one evaluation and 5 physical therapy sessions!! $500 for the 20min evaluation which simply measured my range of motion and between $319-473 for each physical therapy session despite the fact that every session was identical and included in the LESS THAN AN HOUR sessions was 15min of merely heating my arm. Yes I have insurance and I am only responsible for 1/10th of that total but this billing is unconscionable.

The therapy sessions were ok, as another reviewer said, nothing fancy, just a few exercises, some heat and a small amount of physical manipulation. This is what is wrong with healthcare in America.
