Horrible policy and horrible merchandise and horrible customer service!

I will never purchase from Bob’s Discount Furniture again! I purchased a dinette set online that was delivered and assembled with defective pieces. Bob’s offered to deliver a replacement piece and the piece they delivered was more damaged than the piece I already had, so they set up a 3rd delivery to attempt to fix the problem.

I called customer service and asked them for a refund and to pick up their furniture (which still has the plastic on it). Sorry, they only offer exchanges or store credit. Ridiculous! How are you going to force a customer to spend money in your store for more substandard merchandise?

Clearly this policy is in place for a reason. Sell you defective merchandise and then only offer you store credit or replacement. This way Bob’s ALWAYS wins and the customer ALWAYS loses! Horrible policy and horrible merchandise and horrible customer service!

  1. Bob’s Discount Furniture is Scammer

    Ok: So I wanted to work with Bob’s Discount Furniture because I thought they were cheap and easy. It was the worst experience that I’ve had with a company ever. My furniture was supposed to come in two days. It took three weeks.

    They would call me every two or three days and just say “Whoops, we don’t have your furniture in stock, so we’re going to postpone.” Managers were always “busy” and unable to talk. One time, I asked about refunding policies, and next thing you know, they canceled my order without telling me.

    Another time, I wasted hours, calling Bob’s HQ for them to send out a replenishment form that, three days later, I found out was never submitted. In the end, the delivery people finally came but didn’t have all of the furniture I requested.

    When I tried to get my money back for the undelivered furniture, they made me go through so many hoops that wasted so much time. Please don’t be like me and waste your time with this incompetent organization.

    The worst customer service ever I got. They show you things like diamond and provide you like zirconium. I ordered sectional sleeping sofa. Representative, showed me memory foam mattress and made me to try it. I said okay, I want this. She made bill.

    She promised us to get delivery on st, so we were expecting call from BOB but we didn’t get any. When we called at store, they said your order is here, we forgot to call you. As we chose to pick up, we reached at store and got our stuff.

    As stuff was wrapped up, they said do not open right now, it will be hard to carry to our house. We said okay and we got at home with stuff. As soon as we unwrapped, we found scratches on it and it was teared at bottom. In addition, the mattress was spring mattress instead of memory foam.

    We reached to store via call and they transferred to customer care. They scheduled service. Technician came and reported damaged.

    Worst customer service!!! Furniture came damaged. The 2nd delivery the wrong furniture was brought. Now over 3 weeks and still not resolved. All they say is a form needs to be processed yet it was supposedly submitted 3 times already! I have spoken with 6 people so far in the store & customer service (me calling them, clearly they don’t care to contact me about their wrong doing) and it’s the same answer –

    The order still hasn’t been corrected and they need to submit a form. They can’t refund my $ they took right away because they still have to correct order with “a form” to even refund!! The absolute worst experience, never again.

    this store is terrible. my mistake was buying the furniture before reading the terrible reviews. i ordered a dresser as well as a chest. they were supposed to be delivered at 7:30-11:30am but never came. we had to call the store asking for a full refund. our order didn’t come up in the system,

    we then found out that the order was supposedly “fully delivered” when we hadn’t even seen it yet. they then called us back later and told us that the furniture had never been on the delivery truck. they told us that we would get a refund in 10-16 days.

    The furniture was good; but the customer service was poor. I had to call the store salesperson three times to check up on the order and never received a follow-up call from the store when I called their 800 number to express my frustration. The product on the other is good!

    By far the worse experience me & my family members have ever had! Their furniture is extremely over priced & cheaply made! I purchased my living room Sectional and my king sized bedroom set in June of this year, August my bed broke.

    It was swapped out & fixed… sept same exact issue happens again. They do the same process.. come out fix. BOOM IT HAPPENEDS AGAIN this time my baby 9 month old is injured when the bed breaks at 3am while we are sleeping. I call asking to swap out the bed for a different bed they refuse to work with us nor give

    While my dining table was being delivered While my dinning room table was being delivered I noticed that the delivery guy rocked all 4 chairs to see if any of them wobbled.

    Once the table was assembled I did my own “rock test” and found that 2 of the chairs were very wobbly. The delivery guy said that he would have to call and have the 2 chairs scheduled to be swapped out.

    Don’t waste your time. Bought a chair and wanted to load in the car and go home but instead waited more than 30 minutes in the load area no one came to help went to the front of the store multiple times and no one came to assist. Never buying anything ever again worst customer service of my life.

    The couch and chair I recently purchased are both very nice . They had no problem with delivery date , it came just when they said it would . The delivery guys were great also !! But now I am having issue`s with my couch , so I have tried to call ” customer care ” at both numbers numerous times this week , only to be on hold waiting for someone to answer . I have made 4 calls , a total of over 3 hours waiting.

    I was on 58 minutes today . Still no answer . And still on hold again as I am typing this . I called the store , and they tell you they cannot do anything , you must contact customer care . They tell you that customer care is very busy . Then it`s time to reorganize their customer care . As for myself , I won`t be shopping Bob`s any time soon due to their customer service .

    Having recently gone through some trying financial times due to chemotherapy & a divorce, I applied for the offer from Bob’s to do monthly payments from “AcceptanceNow” and was approved for $2500. Even though they state no credit checks, they demanded SS#, birth date, drivers license #, income, employer, 3 references, and more…

    All I needed was a sofa. The sofa, with all applicable taxes was under $550. From Falls Church to DC, a 20 min ride per navigator, they wanted to charge SIXTY-NINE DOLLARS DELIVERY!!! THEN…the total monthly fee for that $620 total purchase ($550 + $69 delivery fee) was quoted at $145 p/month for TWELVE MONTHS…($145 x 12= $1740)…

    They were going to charge me SEVENTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR A CHEAPASS $500 SOFA!!! They should be ran out of business! THIEVES!

  12. If you're considering buying from them, please think again!!

    Like everyone else, I should have read the reviews here before buying. We placed our order a month in advance with and it seems that the closer we get to our move-in date (the date we scheduled our furniture to arrive), their delivery team has to push back the date for various pieces of furniture. So now, some of the furniture that we ordered will not arrive until at least two weeks after we move in.

    After reading some of these reviews, I can only pray that none of the pieces that do arrive will be broken! Bobs needs to be HONEST and WARN customers about the various things that could go wrong with the order while the customer is IN THE STORE. If Bobs feels like being honest about this would ruin their business then maybe they should CHANGE their practices.

    Their whole attitude since the first push back with the furniture has been “well thats just the way it is” and “we have no control over it.” If you’re considering buying from them, please think again!!

    Purchased two accent chairs and a sofa. Sofa is good but after three attempts to deliver three sets of defective accent chairs (wobbly legs and a lot of loose thread) we have decided we don’t want to try anymore, we would like a refund which we can’t seem to get. We have called customer service numerous times and STILL cannot get anywhere.

    I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Blocked the entire building, refused to move so people could get in, and then left trash all over the place. Called the hotline and was told they would clean it up before they left, they never did. Would give 0 stars if I could.

    I couldn’t wait to order a new living room set for my new home. After seeing Bob’s commercials I finally thought I’d give it a try. When I called into the store and got a customer service representative by the of Hazel, who helped me through the ordering process.

    After much deliberation I finally settled on a Hampton sofa and love seat with good protection. Was told it would take a few days but to my surprise my order arrived the very next day. They came in very professionally and set up my living room set in a timely manner. I am very pleased with my new living room set. And I look forward to my next shopping at Bob’s.

  17. We will definitely be coming back to finish furnishing our apartment!

    My fiancé and I went to Bob’s last week to set up for our new apartment. We wanted to take advantage of our U-Haul rental and pick up some furniture on the spot. Jamie from the clearance section helped us not only reserve what we wanted but also choose pieces to match our couch and dining room table!

    He really went above and beyond and we are so impressed with the sales team at this Bob’s location. They are all very accommodating and just want their customers to leave happy with their purchases. We will definitely be coming back to finish furnishing our apartment!
