Stay far away from BMW Financial Services. They have sloths that work in their financial department.

They are very condescending and unprofessional, with very poor communication skills.

I leased a 2018 BMW through BMW Financial Services.

I pay on the due date, every month like clockwork. In some cases I will pay ahead of time.

I had left to go overseas, and I figured I would pay two payments at once.

This way, I would not have any issues when I returned to the states.

Then I came back to the States I was informed by BMW financial services that I was a payment behind.

Reviewing my records I recalled that I had paid two payments to cover my June and July payment., he indicated that this was an error on their part and he would adjust it and all the late fees would be removed.

He also assured me that there would not be a negative reporting of anything on my credit.

He kept assuring me that everything was fine and that the payment would post correctly and that I had nothing to worry about.

A month later, the negative posted to my account. Called and tried to dispute it, they could care less!

Currently filing complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

  1. Joke of a business, it really shouldn't be that hard to give away money.

    If I could rate this 0 stars I would. My account went into collections due to my bank account being closed and I was trying to make a payment and change my banking before it got repossessed. I called BMWFS and the first guy I talked to had no idea what was happening and transferred me to another guy. The second guy was a complete idiot.

    Asked me to verify my phone number- gave it to him and told me he couldn’t find my account. Did this 3 more times and nothing. Now mind you I had to type in my phone number to even talk to a representative. I asked him if there was any other way to authenticate my account and he asked my name- still couldn’t find my account even though I have spoke to the representative before who transferred me for god knows why.

    Finally he found it because he spelt my name wrong the first time, and was able to authenticate then he told me that he has to transfer me yet again. Was on hold for another 30 minutes only to have the THIRD person tell me I must fax my banking info and could not do over the phone or in office. Joke of a business, it really shouldn’t be that hard to give away money.

  2. No call... No email.. nothing.. they take my car?

    We decided to pay our amount owed in full, sent in 2 CHECKS (none were cashed in), called to the department and no one knows ANYTHING, did two transfers of the full amount owed, they sent it back to us, and then they tow my car away after our numerous attempts to pay the full amount.

    We even contacted our dealership and apparently, they don’t have any influence over payments after you purchase the car. I don’t know WHY they don’t allow you to pay it off completely. It makes absolutely no sense.

    When you try to call them, they tell you “Just wait for a few more days, checks usually take a few days to process.” and without any warning… No call… No email.. nothing.. they take my car?

    Do NOT lease – it is long, complicated and full of legalese – sales people
    at BMW LIED straight faced to me about personal property tax -buried in the lease says customer pays, even though sales people lied otherwise. Also, there is a “restocking” fee of $350 at end of lease to put vehicle back in inventory.

    Once again, salespeople lied and said “turn in keys and walk away – no further cost…” Simply NOT true. If I could give these people a ZERO star I would !! I do not believe BWM Financial (NOR BMW sales people ) are reputable businesses…….why didn’t I buy a Mercedes ???????

    I still can’t believe this is attached to the BMW brand. It took over 1 month to change the bank account for my monthly payment, website wouldn’t work, they wouldn’t take it by phone,

    I was stuck on collection for over 2 months, with daily call repeating that I faxed 5x, emailed and posted the new blank check. Stay away from them… what a mess.

  6. The worst customer service ever.

    The worst customer service ever. No one answers their phones, your on hold for at least 30 minutes or more if your lucky. Your on hold forever have to hang up and call back multiple time and days to get a hold of someone. Horrible annoying music while your on hold.

    Manager very rude and condescending about removing $11.00 of interest that was accrued. Pointing out that it’s the contract well things happen in life sometimes and you should be grateful for good loyal customers or you wont have a job.

    Thanksgiving holiday was around my payoff due date and they received the check a few days late since they were closed. Would not remove interest as a one time curtsy, I have never been late in 5 years and had another loan with them for my previous BMW. I will never buy another BMW or deal with BMW Finance Services again.

    When my balloon payment came due they wanted to refinance me at 6.99% after being a loyal client with great credit and no late payments in 8 years between the 2 loans.

    I went to Bank of America and got approved for 2.99% for the same vehicle imagine how they want to take advantage of their great clients. Never again that is sad….. They need to take some classes on customer satisfaction and not try to rip people off. Now they have lost another great client!!!!!

    BMW Financial Services is the worst financial company I have ever dealt with. I recently traded my BMW one month before the end of the lease and they are making me pay them the disposition fee because I didn’t personally purchase the BMW. They were paid in full for the BMW and the car was never returned to them.

    The disposition fee is supposed to be for them cleaning the vehicle (which they didn’t do), inspecting and preparing the vehicle for sale at auction (which they didn’t do) and for transporting the vehicle to auction and selling it (which they didn’t do). What difference should it make whether the pay off on the car came from me or from another dealership?

    They were paid in full for the vehicle and the vehicle was never returned to them. I’ve traded several other leased vehicles and have never encountered being charged because I didn’t personally buy the vehicle from them.

    I will never do business with BMW Financial Services again and I will warn any and everybody I know that might be remotely interested in leasing or buying a BMW not to do so if they have to deal with BMW Financial Services.

    It’s a shame that such a huge financial services company would be such a big rip off company. I paid the disposition fee only because I didn’t want any derogatory remarks on my outstanding credit report. BMW FINANCIAL SERVICES SUCKS!!!!!

    Administrative nightmare and full of extra charges. I was transferring my lease from my company to me personally. The headaches were endless. 6 months after the transfer BMW is still confused and has lost documents. Will never lease a car from BMW again. Might buy one, but be warned about leasing with BMW Fin Services.

    Turned in my lease and paid everything out. A few days ago, I got a notice that a bill was sent to collections. It was last year’s tax bill, which is fine. The problem is, I never received any mail or phone call about this bill, it went straight to collections. It’s not even delinquent yet. I don’t understand why they did that. Now I am worried that there will be one negative remark reflected on my credit report for something that could have easily been handled.

  12. DONT EVER LEASE A BMW from them.

    I leased a MiniCooper for 39 months and it expired this July. The car had 1700 miles and was in pristine shape asd it was used basically to drive around the neighborhood of a second home.

    Upon inspection, the inspector said there were no problems and it was in perfect shape. BMW charged over $1500 in fees for a lost key even though we returned both keys and $750 for excessive wear and tear because i had not change the oil three times despite only having 1700 miles on the car. Complaints at all levels went unheaded. DONT EVER LEASE A BMW from them.

  18. What a huge mistake.

    What a huge mistake. I accidentally missed 1 payment of About $110 and they never try to contact me, (they have my email and home address) but instead charged me $50 per month penalties for 23 months
    $1,150 due now at the end of the term and they totally messed up my credit score. I tried to get another loan for something and the bank told me my credit score has dropped very low…

    I found out that BMW sent to my credit score 23 late payments… When I called them in upset they said they tried to contact me… What a pile of ==== To fix things I needed to make the payment that was missed which wasn’t a issue but try to ask why all late payment sent to my credit score…

    All they could say is sorry, but ready the fine print …Should be only 1 $50 penalty… I could handle that!!!! I think they are the biggest crooks I have ever dealt with and there customer service is disgraceful…

    They sent someone to my house to inspect my car and he left me with a $350 bill (end of lease bill) which was fine. Now I got a bill for $2700!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I called to the nice “BMW Financial Services” and he told me that yes I owe this amount and if I don’t pay it then they will send it to collection..

    So in general what they are doing is to send you a guy to your house to just BS you and tell you your car if fine so you don`t have the option of fixing it by yourself and if you don’t get another bmw then they will find their ways to charger you x3-4 than what you was suppose to pay or they will send you to collections. JUST LIKE A MAFIA.

    Car is great. BMW Financial is absolutely the worst customer service company I have ever seen. Their website is impossible and continually drops you back to square one — even when you follow all their step-by-step instructions. Trying to enroll in their Easy Payment plan is anything but “easy”. It should be called BMW “DO NOT EVEN TRY” Payment Plan.

  21. I got scammed by BMW.

    I got scammed by BMW. I entered a 3-year lease with BMW in 2015. In 2016, I purchased additional mileage. I was told that any unused miles will be refunded. The Addendum that I signed clearly stated that I will receive back any unused miles at the rate of $.16% per mile.

    The 3-year lease was over last month and I returned my car with no issues except they refused to refund my unused miles. They said they can only give me credit for the unused miles to be applied to any outstanding balance.

    Well, I paid off my lease and there is NO outstanding balance. They are so tricky tried to get you purchased additional miles, but never ever, not on the phone nor on the Addendum, that they said any unused miles will not be refundable.

    I hate business like this that is so tricky in their words and agreements and just don’t tell you everything. I will post this on Facebook and let everyone know not to do business with BMW.

    If you need anyone to lie on your behalf BMW customer service and Manager Dayo are the go to person. They’ve charged my account due to an error $928, took 2 &1/2 weeks for my refund.

    Before the refund, every time I asked to speak with a manager I’m told they’re busy or someone will call me back (which never happened) and at one point I was told I can only speak to the case manager (which was not possible), as he will call me back.

    Case manager Dayo eventually called me back on Friday Jan 26th. (after requesting to speak with him for 2 weeks)

    First he said he called me on Jan 22 and left me a message. The phone number which I’ve left for anyone to call me back is my work cell and due to my job I have to answer or return all calls.

    I have not receive any call or had any miss call from BMW. When I told him he’s lying, immediately he’s ready to terminate the call. I had to mention that customer are given three warning before a call is being terminated. He did not hang up and I caught his attention.

    Anyways I’ve asked for an compensation due their error, because if I was the one who made the error of not making the payment, there will be a $25 late payment penalty and have my concern escalated because the way I was handle was not BMW friendliness.

    I have received a delinquency on my credit report due to clerical errors by BMW Financial. BMW Financial are not concerned about there customers and states that they do not remove items per there policy.

    I have contacted them numerous times and received threats that they will not only refuse to remove items but will contact the credit agencies to update the information. They are a horrible company.

  25. STAY AWAY!

    I cancelled the credit contract with BMW Financial before picking up a car from the showroom since I bought another BMW from a dealer. In order to close that contract they asked for £350! I made a complaint and they mentioned that the money never made it to them implying they money stayed with the dealer.

    When I requested a written response to my complaint, they actually send a calculation in which they added the £350 on top of the full credit amount that was payed by the dealer. In reality they got the cash! In my complaint I asked why the charge and they didn’t even bother to answer.

    I am dealer trying to obtain a payoff from BMW financial services and there phone system is down and has been. As I was trying to get through I noticed all the bad reviews and all the 1 stars on there review site.

    I was thinking there is no way things are that bad but they sure seem to be. I can not get through to get an accurate payoff and complete my deal.

  27. THEY NEED TO GET OUT OF AMERICA PERIOD! AND THEIR VEHICLES ARE SHIT!

    BMW Financial Services sent a delinquent payment report to the credit reporting agencies with my name on it. I do not, nor never have had a financial account of any kind with this organization. I would never lease or purchase a car from this piece of shit financial institution.

    They refuse to provide a letter to the credit reporting agencies correcting their mistake in reporting me as the lease loan holder. They will not talk to me because I do not have an account with them. How ironic. I have just lost a mortgage application for my family as a result of this.

    I have been calling them for ten months and I get the same run around every time. I will be filing a suit against them. THIS ORGANIZATION IS PURE SHIT! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AMONG THE MOST PATHETIC IN THE WORLD. DO NOT DUE BUSINESS WITH THEM.

    THEY HAVE REPORTED SOMEONE ELSE’S DELINQUENT LOAN TO THE CREDIT REPORTING AGENCIES IN MY NAME!!! THEY NEED TO GET OUT OF AMERICA PERIOD! AND THEIR VEHICLES ARE SHIT!

  28. It is disappointing to get to this point and not something I wish on any of you.

    Long story short, this company is easy to work with until something goes wrong and when something goes wrong, then they are completely inflexible and hide behind long drawn out antiquated processes (physical writing as default communication for anything credit related) and company policies that they claim they can’t change or do anything about because it wouldn’t be fair to other customers.

    I had a payment that went 31 days late (more my issue than BMW’s), and while payment was paid at 30 on day 31 BMW Financial Services reported to all 3 credit bureaus.

    I have never had a late payment with them in 5 years, but the late payment was made on day 30, along with current month at same time to be 100% caught up, and I also paid off remainder of the loan (still had a year left) that same month. All-in-all, excellent reaction to getting on top of, and even ahead of entire loan.

    Late payment, even though paid at 31 days, apparently triggered BMW to automatically send notification to all 3 credit bureaus that I was late and dropped my credit score 70 points.

    To say it was painful to even get someone to talk to about the dispute is an understatement, and to think they would be empathetic and understanding to the situation and excuse a late payment with with the credit bureaus, you would be kidding yourself.

    BMW Financial Services Customer Service says their hands are tied and told me “it is the Law for them to report to the agencies anything past 30 days” and they can do nothing about it, no exceptions.

    This isn’t true, and the company chooses to make those reportings to agencies, which they have every right per the Fair Credit Act, but they also have the right to make exceptions as needed, which they claim “We can’t make an exception at all because it would be fair to other customers.”

    I have been totally happy with the company until this moment, but the pain I have gone through the last month trying to fix my credit, to get someone to talk to me, and understand or work with me over the reporting and dispute will keep me away from this company going forward.

    It is disappointing to get to this point and not something I wish on any of you. The company was fine until there was an issue, but if you are willing to take that chance then go for it, just don’t expect a give and take relationship from them.

  29. Despicable service and contempt for their customers.

    They report to Credit Bureaus in a knee-jerk response, independently of the reason of the delay in payment. I had an automated payment system to pay may lease.

    When I set up auto-pay, they stopped sending me paper statements. At some point, evidently due to a computer glitch ON THEIR SYSTEM, ONE PAYMENT did not go through. As soon as I noticed, I sent the (by that time late) payment

    COMMUNICATION (email, paper statement, phone) so I could address the issue, reported me to credit bureaus.

    Their cavalier and robotic response, showing total disregard and contempt for their customers destroyed my perfect FICO Score.

    Poor Service!!! Recently I was notified BMW Financail Service has not received my payment. I immediately scrambled to my check register and notified the representative of my payment, the date I mailed it and confirmed it was cashed.

    Unfortunately, a third party cashed the check and altered the payee. I’ve submitted a police report, an affidavit of forgery from the bank, bank statement, copy of the check and even paid off the balance on my lease. These guys are a joke; they refuse to allow you to talk with anyone that has some type of authority. Refuse to escalate the matter and down right rude.

    In most cases I would be patient and allow this to work it self out. But, currently I’m buying a new property and I’m suppose to take delivery of two new BMW that I had ordered. I’ve cancelled my order and promised myself never to do business with BMW again. They need to retrain there staff.

    My neighbor had his car repossessed even though he paid all of his payments to BMWFS. He has the receipts of the payments by money order. He took each payment to the Post Office to make sure they got to BMWFS. At least two of the money orders were never cashed.

    They were from consecutive months, so it is quite unlikely that the PO lost both of the money orders. BMWFS claims that they never received them. In order to regain his car, he had to pay nearly $2,000 dollars ($1,200+ that BMWFS claims he owes, $322 in late fees, $350 in repo fees).

    This does not include the fees from the lot where the car is being kept.
    This man makes about $1,500 a month and has a wife and daughter to support. He has always done his best to meet his financial obligations. BMWFS did not seem to have any procedures in place to investigate what happened to the payments.

    They informed him that he had to FAX a Declaration of Insurance and send the $1999.30 through Western Union. The payment through Western Union required a stop at four places before finding an office that could do it. Before he can reclaim the car, he will need to call BMWFS again to make sure all the requirements have been met. Then, he will need to call a different company which will hopefully release the car.

    The runaround has been unbelievable! My neighbors English is limited so I was helping him with this problem. The BMWFS representatives on the telephone were polite and sympathetic, and probably as unable to make any headway with the company policies as I was. BMWFS desperately needs to revamp their customer service, find ways to be more helpful when a client is not at fault, and streamline the process for reinstating a contract for a client.

    Loan sharks! They are great until you defer payments during the loan telling you, no problem, just extend the loan term and make more payments. They will hit you with a lump sum interest payment at the end of the loan, even after they required an interest payment at the time of the deferment.
