Horrible Customer Service

Bank Of Hawaii is by far the worst bank I’ve ever dealt with. Firstly they encourage local car dealerships to push financing through them without asking, so even though I was preapproved through USAA, I ended up with BoH, but Ill save more about that for my review of the dealership i went to.

2 weeks after purchasing my vehicle I called BoH to set up my financing. After waiting 30 minutes on hold, ( I came to find out this is a normal wait time for them) I was told Id have to wait at least 2 months for my welcome packet to arrive before setting up payments……..??? WTF? 2 months?

They also told me that during this time payments could become past due, and it would be my fault if they were unpaid, even though BoH, through their own negligent slow as pondwater processes, were at fault for it themselves.

I called USAA and explained to them how horrible BoH was and since ive been a USAA member for over a decade, they were happy to help me.

I felt bad for the USAA operator because she had to wait on hold an equally long time just to end up being hassled by a BoH operator and switch over financing.

Fast forward 3 months, I finally get my BoH welcome packet in the mail….

About 1 week after that i got a letter from USAA stating BoH never mailed out the title like they were supposed to, and I had to have USAA call them again, wait on hold 30 minutes again, and get hassled again, just to learn that they had finally mailed it out 2 days prior….

So if you like waiting 30 minutes on hold, waiting months to get vital documents, and recieving horrible customer service, then this is the bank for you.

    So annoying! Why do they have just 2 tellers at lunch!? This is the only time I can come.
