Artisans’ Bank

Customer Service

Artisans’ Bank is the worst bank I’ve ever encountered. I called to get information about opening a business account for an LLC and the woman that answered the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional.

She refused to provide me with any information and then hung up on me.

And this woman is the bank’s customer service representative! Unbelievable.

I called back and left a message on the supervisor’s voicemail.

He didn’t return my call. This bank deserves zero stars. Stay away from it.

  1. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful.

Love this bank. When I walk in, I am greeted by name. This is not a huge corporation where you are just a dollar amount. They do NOT send 30 pages of onion skin paper every month with innumerable changes to my accounts. All the conveniences that are safe for my banking are offered.

The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The fees they charge for services are well below other bank’s fees. Use of a notary is free. The interest offered on their interest bearing checking and CD’s is higher than other banks.

  2. Very out-of-date credit requirements at this bank.

I have been a customer of Artisans Bank for over 20 years – depository accounts, checking accounts and savings accounts, all handled as agreed. I also have a home equity line of credit with them, also handled as agreed. I have a credit score in the 840 range and a spotless credit record with Equifax and others.

Yet, every five years Artisans expects me to fill out a five page credit app. to keep my equity line of credit account open with them. This involves looking up account numbers, exact balances, names and addresses of creditors, retirement account info. etc. A bit of a hassle for senior citizens. I have lived in my home fore over 25 years, yet they want to know my previous address (?). Why?. That’s an example of the ridiculous details they expect.

I have suggested to Artisans that they review my payment experience with them, my various open checking and savings accounts with them, my credit score and an Equifax report which will give them more information than they need to confirm continuation of my line of credit.

They refuse and have advised me to payoff the account and go elsewhere if I did not want to fill out their five page application. Very out-of-date credit requirements at this bank.
