Arapahoe Credit Union

Customer Service

The management at the Arapahoe Credit Union on Arapahoe Road is terrible. They are not customer service oriented.

They increased my Visa limit without asking me first. This is a change to a credit card without customer authorization.

Stay away….not worth the hassle. They pay someone to monitor and social media websites.

They don’t really care about their customers. Took $900 from my son’s educational account in fees.

  1. Thanks for taking care of me

ACU has always been professional and helpful with all my banking needs. I have had several car loans with them and the rates can’t be beat. Thanks for taking care of me

  2. Please consider all of your options before becoming a member here.

My son refinanced a vehicle through this company in early March. Although they rate we received was fairly decent, their customer service, and management need some serious improvement. We were working at the Centennial location,

and we had to pull teeth to get someone to respond to us. We tried calling upper management to see if they could speed up the process some, yet she was never available, and a call back from her was just asking for too much. I became familiar with this company doing shared branching at this location. In the beginning it seemed as if would be a great place to join, but with my statements listed above,

it surely became a headache. The staff is never the same, nor do they know what they are doing. We are taking a rate increase elsewhere, in order to leave this horrible institution. If we wanted to be treated like a number, we would have just stood at a much larger institution. Please consider all of your options before becoming a member here.

  3. Scammer

Went to refinance my loan here, had a few questions after being approved. Left several messages for the branch manager at the Arapahoe road location. She never returned my calls. Finally,

I decided to just close my account (they make you open a savings account) and keep my loan where it is because the female branch manager never returned my phone calls after several attempts. As I was closing the account, she sat in her office and was texting. This place has good rates, just a bad manager.

  4. do not come here!!!

The Centennial location has some of the rudest managers and teller staff that I have ever experienced and I am not currently an account holder. First the tellers did not even acknowledge my presence when I walked into the lobby, so I just kind of stood there waiting for someone to help me.

I went in to ask questions regarding an auto loan, and the representative was not friendly nor was she welcoming and lacked the knowledge to answer my questions with purchasing and out of state vehicle. I had a friend who received a fairly low interest rate on her vehicle, yet she explained she had to speak with the director of operations at one point, and stated that she was treated like complete garbage and basically her time was not valued.

I had hoped maybe I would have different experience and was hoping for a lower interest rate, so I took my chances. Unfortunately, this was another poor experience to note in the book. If you’re looking for a credit union that actually is courteous and knowledgable, do not come here!!!

  5. Bad Service

First off, I tried to phone the C.U.., which closes at 6:00 pm on friday… but they had their phones turned off at 5:27 pm. I haven’t had an ATM card for 5 weeks now, because the chip on one card was defective. The second card was sent to a bad address because the person I gave my written change of address to didn’t take the time to do the change correctly.

I heard the manager admit to it not being done right. Neither situation any fault of my own. Recently, I had to take my sick puppy to an emergency place in the middle of the night, and they wouldn’t care for him because I had no way to get cash to pay for it. And, the C.U. was closed. I told this to the manager and asked him if they could overnight a card at their cost because none of this was my fault.,

He said “No, that he could re-order and mail one.” A response that is unacceptable as far as I am concerned. I don’t know about you folks, but I don’t like being treated like my family and I don’t matter, because we don’t have a huge bank account. Ian…shame on you for not taking responsibility for your C.U. ‘s mistake, and making it right

  6. ACU's motto is the customer is always wrong.

ACU’s motto is the customer is always wrong. From their website to their customer service they find ways to complicate simple situations and loopholes for taking your money. Stay far away!

  7. don't even know how to properly close out accounts and treat you terribly whenever an issue arises.

I paid ACU to close out ALL of my withstanding accounts with them. Over a year later I come to find out that they never closed the over-draft protection account that was tied to my checking account and have been charging me $25/mo.. I would never recommend taking your money there, they don’t even know how to properly close out accounts and treat you terribly whenever an issue arises.

  8. They still stole my money.

After closing the account wherein around $500.00 was taken from me because MY credit union didn’t have my address and the records had been changed, the person who bought my house said that arapahoe credit union was sending info to the old address and should he send it on.

i said sure. the info from the credit union was that they had changed my new address. The mailing was sent to the old address. Great service. They still stole my money. i have contacted Cherry Creek schools and will contact the other schools that do business with Arapahoe credit Union.
