AIG Insurance

AIG did everything to delay our insurance payment

My dad passed away and I informed AIG about the same. I asked them about the procedure to get the insurance money. The insurance was on my dad’s name and the DPOA was my mother. However, she was not in a condition to take decision. Hence, I told them the entire issue and asked them about the way it needed to be done. I got a courier from them with 8-9 pages of form. I went through it for 3 to 4 days and got confused. So, I asked them to send someone.

The agent who came to my place, went through each page one by one. He explained me things and for most of the clauses, he told me not to worry. He would say, “DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THAT PART”. My mom suffered from anoxic brain damage. So, being the DPOA which was clearly outlined in my parent’s insurance, I provided all the related forms, notarized affidavit, POA. I even submitted the letter written by my mom’s MD which clearly mentioned that she was unable to make any decisions. After 15 days, I received a letter which stated that the paperwork was completed correctly, however, dated wrong. I went through all the forms once again and this time, I had the agent with me to verify all the details. I again got 2 forms notarized. I submitted another copy of my parent’s DPOA.

I again got a letter after 18 days saying that the birth date of my mom was incorrect on the form. I did as they say. After 15 days, I received a letter which demanded two letters from my mom’s MDs and they told that the DPOA was a springing DPOA. However, they sent me one form. It was irritating, and I called. The girl sent me another form. At this point, they wanted two more notarized affidavits of DPOA. I felt like crying and could not stop my tears. My dad died, and it was enough for them, but they decided to increase the pain and problems. My mom needs caregivers who we need to hire for 24 hours. This is not easy and is expensive.

How would I make payments and provide my mom with the same comfort that my dad provided? It is insane. These guys never wanted to pay the insurance amount and are making me go round and round until I get irritated and stop expecting.
But, I would make sure that they pay me the amount that they are liable to pay. Or else, I would reach legal doors. AIG Insurance should be banned from doing business as they are scamming people and making their lives difficult in situations that are already difficult enough.

If you ever wish to get an insurance policy, make sure AIG is not even in the list of probable companies. They are the worst insurance company and are scammers and fraud.

  1. AIG seems to have a bad pattern

Back in the 80’s my wife and I purchased a life insurance policy from Old Line Life, however in 2000 our policy was taken over by AIG. This whole life policy has cost us around $38k in premiums and on our last statement I noticed that they were charging us around $850. a year for some type of maintenance fees. Long story short I’ve been informed that a policy that is suppose to go until 2076 will be void in 2/2021. AIG is charging outrageous fees to maintain our policies and they need to be stopped ASAP!

  2. AIG are crooks, scammers, DON'T, DON'T trust these scumbags. They are the best at screwing you out of your policy when you really need it.

I Paid on a policy 28 years and nothing to show for it but hate for the people who take advantage of senior citizens I was told by my agent that my premiums would never go up, my policy was good until age 86 and could cash in my accumulated premiums at any time. Well, when I turned 73 I got a letter stating my premiums started going up at age 62 and my accumulated premiums were used to supplement my increased premiums and my accumulated money was depleted all but $1,600. and if I wanted to keep the policy I would have to pay $278. a month, my original premium cost $80. a month. So, in reality, I paid $28,000. to a trained scam artist. Take warning DON’T do business with AIG
