1st Choice Money Center

Customer Service

I called prior to my automatic payment coming out, I had been in the hospital and did not have enough money in my account to cover my rent as well as the payment with 1st Choice Money Center

They told me it was no problem and they would stop the payment from coming out and would need a payment brought into the location.

My friend said they would be able to assist me in making this payment.

I received a notice from my bank that they had withdrawn funds from my account.

I called the company and spoke with the supervisor Marisol.

She said the notes in my account said for them to not process the payment but there was another note saying to process it after 3pm.

When I had called in originally I made sure to be very clear and state “I have the right to revoke automatic transactions at any point and I would like to revoke your authorization effective immediately.”

Marisol was not very helpful and said she would look into it and call me back.

I spoke with her again today and she said that THEY DECIDED to process my payment so I would not get a fee.

I DID NOT AUTHORIZE this payment as now my rent check is going to bounce and I could be evicted as a result.

I asked her why they would have run the payment after I specifically revoked their authorization.

She said they wanted to avoid me getting a fee on my account.

I told her I did not care about the fee, I cared about having money for my rent.

I told her I would like to speak with her supervisor after she refused to reverse the payment they processed illegally.

She said her supervisor was not available and would not give me her contact information to reach out to her supervisor directly.

I asked if she could give me a specific time frame in which I would hear back from her supervisor and she would not give me one.

I then told her that “It is my legal right to revoke all automatic transactions with your company and I am now invoking this right, you are no longer authorized to process any of my payments automatically.”

She stated that my contact I signed says that I am enrolled in auto pay, I acknowledged that and told her that clearly due to the nature of the situation I cannot be guaranteed that they are listening to the requests of their clients and clearly not competent enough to follow the federal laws so if I need to provide in writing that they are not to automatically draft payments from my account anymore I would happily do so.

She said that was no necessary and when I asked for her to confirm that they are going to stop auto pay and to please acknowledge my request she said she would need to speak with her supervisor.

This business has been nothing but trouble, they are clearly violating the law and my rights as a U.S. Citizen.
