WSFS Bank

Makes No Sense

The company I did a home equity loan with sold it to WSFS Bank.

I could not get my online account set up until I called them directly, and while on the phone with them had to give them an additional phone number so they could call me with a “security code” to confirm the account.

Thought the hassle was over after that – NO. Got into my account, tried to set up bill pay (because mind you, all I have received at this point is that I have to make my monthly payment, no invoice or coupons have been received).

I get an error message that it’s an account that can’t be paid online! So I call once more, and am told I can’t make online payments with them, I have to go to my own bank and have them do it.

WHAT?!?! I told the lady, my mortgage company lets me pay online, my credit cards let me pay online, but you won’t? That makes no sense.

So now I guess someone in IT or online whatever is supposed to call me to see what they can do.

I guess they don’t want my money very bad. Or, their banking system is stuck in the 1990s.

  1. And they get bigger and bigger as you try to play catch up! It is wroooooong!

Instead of charging an overdraft at the point the money is over drafted as it should be they charge you for all processing amounts. It is utterly ridiculous that banks get away with this crap! You get in a spin cycle of trying to make ends meet and they get richer and richer off of the good people of Delaware whom are disabled and/or retired having paid their dues by blood sweat tears and anything else they could offer!

I think PNC came clean with their methods and issued refund checks for moral reasons. WSFS has no morals. Or at least have not shared them with their customers. If you have a balance of $100.00, and something is presented for $50.00, and another for $25.00, and then another for $25.00, and oh crap I forgot to schedule the $6.00 surcharge, and Voila!

Your balance is -$6.00, but then then, they charge you for all 4 transactions processing that day, and even though it should only be the one that dipped below the balance, they take $35.00 x the four, and you are over not $41.00, but heavens to Betsy you are over $156.00!!!!!!!!!

This is the rich taking advantage of you. I have to have an account, and have made little mistakes that have cost me big. And they get bigger and bigger as you try to play catch up! It is wroooooong!

  2. Staff inside the branch is nice, but dealing with anyone in the corporate offices is a nightmare.

Staff inside the branch is nice, but dealing with anyone in the corporate offices is a nightmare. They forced a flood insurance policy on a line of credit despite all surveys, elevation certs. stating we were not in a flood zone. Insurance agents couldn’t sell us a policy because they were asking for coverage for Zone AE and everything the agents pulled including county records had us in Zone X.

The only way to communicate with “Loan Ops” is through fax or email. THEY WILL NOT TALK TO YOU or even give you a name of a person to converse back and forth with. They do not reply to emails until you pester with several and their responses are short and curt and do not address your questions or facts presented. You literally have to fax info to them and get a letter in reply.
