Walmartcareplan is nothing but the sales tactics, No one will come to your rescue when you submit the claim for the product, It just a waste of time with Walmart care plan customer service. I can say that, they are CON. It was Christmas week and I was planning to buy a TV. There were sales going on everywhere. I am a regular customer of Walmart and usually get my groceries from this outlet. When I went there to check about any interesting plan, I found a 50” TV on sale. The price was charming, and the model was great too.

So, without thinking twice, I bought the TV. When I was at the cashier’s counter, the manager came and convinced me to buy their Walmart Care Plan. He stated that if anything happens within three months of purchase, the item would be repaired or if required will be replaced without any fee.

He said that it would only cost me $150 extra for the plan. I was not sure about getting into that warranty plan but I also knew how these electronics work. So, I decided to take that plan and pay the extra $150 for it. At least, I thought, I would be saved from higher costs later if the TV damages.

It was in the month of December when the Christmas was close. The TV worked fine for few months and in August, it stopped working. It did not start at all. That was the only moment when I felt right about the decision of buying that care plan. After that moment, I never thought that it was ever a clever idea.

I contacted Asurion who is the Walmart’s Care plan provider. The person on the other end said that there was no way he could adjust the sale price with the current market price of the TV. He did not have that model at the comparable price.They said that they would provide a reimbursement. However, that would still be of no use. The reimbursement was for the TV and not the plan. On top of that, that money would not have bought me another 50” TV unless I waited for the Christmas sale.

This was stupid, and I started calling local stores to get some insight on the matter. After talking to more than 5 people from the local store, one guy asked me to bring the TV to the store and they would exchange it. I did as they said. When I got to the store, I saw the exact TV with same UPS on the shelf. When I talked to the manager of the customer service, I was again put down. He said that he would not be able to give me the TV at the same price and I needed to pay an extra $200 to get the new one.

He further stated that the sale price is no longer available and he would not be able to provide a new TV of a similar model in exchange. If that was the case, why he asked me to bring it in the store. He only ate my time and effort. If I would have been informed about this, I would have never got the care plan that was worth for nothing. I was kept in dark and would never have been disappointed like this before.

    Was robbed for $50 by the so called "care plan"

    I bought a warranty with my TV that was supposed to last for 4 years.
    They said that the plan would not start till after the manufacturer warranty ran out.
    That would mean that i had 4 years of coverage. But after 3 years and 2 months my TV broke and I called them. They said that the fist year I had 2 warranties at the same time so now the 3 year plan i bought is expired.
    But the thing is when I first got the TV I had a problem with it and I called the wall-mart service plan and they said that I needed to call the manufacturer to get it fixed!
    They straight up lied to me. Walmart care plan is a joke that with steal your money and not give you the service they say they give.
    I hope this review save some other poor schmuck his hard earned money.

    Asurion Walmart Protection Plan "THUMBS DOWN"

    So I purchased a Lawn Mower from WalMart the cashier asked if I would like a protection plan for 3 years that would cover the Lawn Mower if anything went wrong of course that is a No Brainer so I said Yes, was not told if anything SPECIFIC went wrong I was told if ANYTHING went wrong so of course 2 years and 11 months go by and now my mower will not start I am a stickler for preventive maintenance so when Asurion tells me that it is because I have put bad gas in my mower or let the mower set with gas in it which has damaged the Carburetor it is hard for me to believe since I drain my mower each fall and put fresh gas in it every summer Asurion shame on you for False Advertising and WalMart Shame on you for not training your employees to exactly know about what a Scam this Protection Plan is …… So basically I not only wasted 20 bucks for a Protection Plan that is worthless but if you figure all the time I was on the phone waiting for help for the 5 days I was back and forth with Asurion that was another 4 hours and since I make 20 bucks an hour basically I am out $100 Dollars the brochure clearly states
    “If your product breaks it will be fixed, replaced, or you will be reimbursed”
    What a Big Load of Poo Poo !!!

    Wal-Mart care plan

    I will never purchase another electronic from walmart or care plan every again I have not been kept up to date on the return of my tv I have called several times in reference to this product an been told several different things. I was supposed to be emailed with tracking number so i could track my tv I had to call customer service for tracking number. This walmart care plan is terrible.

    Paid for on an item not covered.

    I bought a care plan on a $180 drone. When it crashed a year later and i tried to file, they told me they don’t cover drones. They cancelled my plan and are sending my $16 back that they have been earning interest on. Now I’m stuck with a broken $180 piece of plastic. If i would have known it wasn’t covered i wouldn’t have let a newbie touch it. The plan automatically popped up on the register after they rang it up. I think they started seeing how many products they were losing money on so decided to stop honoring their policies. There has to be grounds for a class action lawsuit here.

    Bought 3 year plan, filed claim prior to the end of plan. COVID came and turned our world upside down. Was not thinking about a tv warranty. Called 4 weeks later to complete and was told it was denied because I waited too long. NO EXCEPTIONS.

    I filed a claim to have my son’s laptop repaired and they sent it back without the ac power cord and adapter. I have called over 20 times and they do nothing, they transfer over and over, sent a cheap replacement that did not fit, this is the biggest scam ever, do not waste your time or money on this incompetent and unethical company.

    TV stopped working after 2 years. I spent 5 to 6 attempts to get the warranty company to approve the claim. They try to get out of the claim at every corner. we are now at 3 weeks just to get the claim approved with the TV, now they want to send me shipping materials to send back to repair. It will be another 4 to 6 weeks. If I do get this taken care of we are looking at 2 to 3 months without a TV. This plan is a joke a waste of money and time. I would not recommend this warranty to anyone.

    Complete scam!

    Purchase a 8 camera DVR security system with a 3 yr extended warranty. Since Sept 2020, I have sent 2 of the cameras which stopped working back to them 2 times, said they repaired them, they sent back still not working. They had me send both cameras in again for the 3rd time, then call me weeks later for me to send in my DVR so they could test the cameras to repair them. Without the DVR the first 2 times I sent cameras in how did they fix them? Explains why I got them back still not working. It is now April 2021 and I still do not have my DVR or my 2 cameras back 7 months later! Just called them today 4/26/21, they had no clue what the status is on my cameras. Due to them having my DVR for weeks now, I have been left with out my other 6 cameras for security. Absolutely ridiculous and I will never purchase another Walmart Asurion warranty ever! Waste of money, have gotten nothing but a run around because they don’t want to make good on the warranty and reimburse me or replace.
