Tim Lowry – Trident Mortgage ...

The Worst Experiences

I worked with Tim Lowry – Trident Mortgage Company to get the mortgage on my condo. It was the worst experience of my life and I wouldn’t wish my experience on anyone.

I worked with Jason Greiser who wouldn’t return my phone calls and wasn’t helpful locking in a good interest rate.

I was constantly calling him and leaving messages that weren’t returned.

The night before my closing he confirmed my total down payment.

This figure should have been provided to me wayyyyyy in advance and the not-knowing caused me a lot of stress and anxiety.

Jason also didn’t come to my settlement meeting.

He conveniently went on vacation and notified me the night before I settled.

I was distraught and confused. I was a first time homeowner and had no idea of the process/procedure.

I was scared that I was making a big mistake and Jason was no help in calming my fears or anxiety.

The next day at settlement I was told by Jason’s assistant that the down payment amount that Jason quoted me the night before in fact incorrect and that I owed an additional $6,000.

Jason was on a flight to California so I couldn’t reach him.

I was understandably freaking out as I didn’t have an additional $6,000.

When I got to settlement, the HUD-1 wasn’t ready and the real estate agents and attorneys present all continually agreed that this is NOT how closings should be handled.

They were shocked at how badly I was treated and how mismanaged my mortgage was handled by Trident.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT WORK WITH TRIDENT.

I never spoke to Jason again – he never called to apologize.

A year later and I still think about my experience with Jason Greiser and Trident with nausea and a ton of resentment.

  1. Scammer

Was working with Jason at the Hockessin location and could not get a straight answer from him or his office manager about how much I was approved for.

He kept telling me “It depends on the value of the house.” Why does the value of the house I want to buy make any difference on what I qualify for. If I qualify for a $100k mortgage than tell me. If I qualify for a $500k mortgage then tell me. Don’t tell me my qualification depends on the house I want to buy.

You’re better off working with a lender that tells it to you straight and doesn’t play games. I got a fair qualification ($425k) from TDBank and went with them, I guess Trident Mortgage doesn’t respect me as a customer – their loss!

  2. Do not use this company!

Worst mortgage experience ever. Not only did they put our chances of finalizing the mortgage in jeopardy, but we were very close to being out on the streets thanks to their inability to get paperwork done before the specified settlement date.

If they did not meet the confirmed settlement date (which they confirmed two weeks prior), we would have either inconvenienced family OR made this joke of a mortgage company pay for our hotel stay.

  3. I recently bought a property using there services.

I recently bought a property using there services. They lost our personal and private information at least twice, which prompted us to question what they were doing with it.

They barely made the deadline and sprung on us the day before closing an issue that should have been discussed in the beginning of the process. Worst of all, I went to get another loan a month later and found they ran our credit 6 time, doesn’t sound like an issue.

Try to get a loan after someone requests your credit 6 times. Avoid at all costs, disorganized, unprofessional and dangerous.

  6. DO NOT waste your time.

DO NOT waste your time. I was pre-approved again and again by this company over a 6 month period. Then, I proceeded to be passed off from one person to another as 2 employees left without notice.

3 days before closing, I was told via email that I was denied for a mortgage that was 50% less than what I was originally approved for. I could not go to closing and ultimately lost the property. No one called to apologize. No one followed up. No one cared.
