The Bank of Denver

VERY disappointing

I judge a bank by The Bank of Denver they keep and the service providers they use. Given my own recent experience, I would say stay away.

I was at the bank, made a deposit, elected to join a friend for a drink at Hamburger Mary’s (mind you the bank was closed and lot was empty) only to come back and find out my car was towed

The bastards that towed it demanded $280 in CASH and basically hijacked my laptop and iPad until noon the next day when they made it available to me for a ONE HOUR window.

This is simple extortion in my book. I will never use this bank again if these slimy towing companies are the ones they use. VERY disappointing.

  1. Never Again

I could mail in a check for no fee. But then it will take a week to transport and process the payment. My phone contact kept telling me that the bank has to pay fees to process a check from another bank.

LIES!! I have had multiple business accounts with banks all over the country. Never was I charged a fee for depositing a check from another bank. NEVER!

  2. Not impressed.

The staff tells you about half of the information you need to know when you open an account, including what will get you out of service charges. Seems like they are looking for any opportunity to charge you fees. Not impressed.

  3. I went in to open a personal checking account and upon walking in I was treated rudely.

I went in to open a personal checking account and upon walking in I was treated rudely. I was told to talk to a blonde woman who was sitting down who looked me up and down then told me to go to another woman. They were whispering to each other for a minute and then when I pulled out all of my identification ( a state ID,social security card and birth certificate) I was told that those could be easily copied and faked and that they needs a work ID or a membership card of some form. I rarely write reviews but I truly felt discriminated against because of my appearance and I would recommend not wasting your time at this bank.

  4. This banks customer service is absolutely appalling.

This banks customer service is absolutely appalling. Go in regularly to make deposit and have to deal with rookie tellers who cannot add and subtract on a daily basis. Service is extremely slow. They seriously have to put $25 through a cash counter to make sure its the right amount. I know because I asked why. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this bank. There are simply too many other good banks in the Denver area.

  5. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

Absolutely horrible bank. Difficult and time consuming to make transactions. Tellers are worthless and find any reason to make your life more difficult. Banking should not be hard. To top it off their management is even worse, especially Scott in the main Denver branch. Avoid like the plague. There are many other banks to do business with. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.
