Texas Bay Credit Union-Pasadena Bra...

Poor Customer Service

Do not trust Texas Bay Credit Union-Pasadena Branch banking institution! Incredibly poor service! They do not follow through on their promises!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. In March I decided to downsize from a truck to a car.

My credit was less than desirable after going through a divorce. I had financing already lined up though.

While I was at the dealership a representative from this credit union was there.

He told me he could beat the interest rate if I would agree to put a GPS device on my car and after the first year of making on time payments he would refinance the loan for a better interest rate.

In August 2015 I tried to refinance and they wouldn’t even talk to me about it even though each payment had been on time (more like early) and always for more than the payment amount with out a large deposit.

The GPS device I agreed to put on my car was actually a device that would disable my car in the event a payment was late.

Well this last month I had some fraud on my banking account from some online charges I had made.

In the middle of getting that sorted out the Bill Pay check I sent the credit union was returned.

As soon as I figured this out, I was the one who called the credit union to try to make payment with my credit card.

They didn’t have to contact me!! I was informed that the payment could ONLY be made in cash from this point on and NO future checks would ever be accepted.

Guess what… they shut the starter off to my car. So I have no transportation to get to their or branch or even a shared branch to make the payment by cash and they wont accept my card over the phone!

Now I have extra charges from them including returned check fees and late payment fees, a late payment reported to my credit and still a disabled car!

I could have paid them before the payment would have been considered late.

I initiated a wire transfer (which charged me a fee) and just waiting for it to process in order to cover all the fees, payment and get my car turned back on.

Do not trust this banking institution!! Incredibly poor service!! They do not follow through on their promises!!

  1. DO NOT TRUST TEXAS BAY CREDIT UNION!

DO NOT TRUST TEXAS BAY CREDIT UNION! I have been with them for over 25 years, but I will close my account at my earliest convenience, They used to be good, but their management has changed. This institution has sent a slow payment to the credit reporting agencies on me for charges that were fraudulent to begin with.

Texas Bay Master card contacted me about the suspicious credit card activity and I immediately had the card cancelled and went through the process of disputing the charges. Even contacting them and letting Texas Bay take the money out of my account while the charges were in dispute. They still reported me to the agencies with slow payment!

I have 2 late payments on my credit report in my life and they are both from Texas Bay. Both times I had discussed the charges with them and assured everything was ok, and both times they reported to to the credit agencies! To make matters worse I had more than enough money in my account there to cover any disputes there may be!

  2. the managers are never available.

He is been trying to get a hold of the managers for weeks since this people at the credit union are taking forever to process the paperwork, but the managers are never available.

Again you would think that since they are handling the Gap claim that should got paid already. Moreover the collection lady told my son today that the $ 300 might or might not be refunded to him once they received the gap money, ” if I say yes, you will get a refund, I will be lying and I can’t do that” she said.

His car accident happened at the beginning of June and I am typing this review at the end of August.

I seen this Credit Union growing through the years and the bigger they get, the lower is the quality of their services and customer service and all starts from management down!

  3. Never Again

My family and I had been members for many years, I can’t count the amount of people I had referred to them. Everything was fine until my son got his 2nd car loan. His car was totaled in a car accident 1 month prior to his first monthly payment,

he was told that once the insurance will pay before the due date of his first payment he didn’t have to worry about making anymore payments. The car insurance paid most of the cost of the car before his monthly payment was due, except for 3K that the Gap Policy should cover.

He got the Gap coverage through them, so you should assumed that since they are the ones handling the Gap claim it should be paid in a timely manner but it wasn’t.

  4. I have this all well documented with the regulatory agencies.

I had been a customer of TBACU for 20+ years and never had a problem. Then, they screwed up some internal paperwork and gave the IRS false information on one of my accounts. It only cost me aggravation initially, because I always had my information together and was able to prove that the bank was wrong.

But then, one day, they tried to force me to sign false documents. When I refused, they froze my account and would not respond to calls. I had to call the authorities to get my money out of the bank. My guess is they were in trouble with the regulators and were trying to cover themselves for it.

This is a very dangerous institution, they were almost able to steal my money. I have this all well documented with the regulatory agencies.
