St. Anthony Family Medicine Center

The Clinic Felt Like A Run Down Free Government Clinic

My wife delivered our son at OU and one of the doctors attending to him in the hospital was Dr. Mobley, who is associated with St. Anthony.

Before they could be discharged we were required to schedule a follow-up the next day and Dr. Mobley recommended the St. Anthony Family Medical Clinic.

We were very impressed with Dr. Mobley so of course we valued his referral.

Making the appointment was easy. When we arrived I was surprised with the feel of the operation.

The clinic felt like a run down free government clinic. Small details like the plastic disposable spoons taped to the pens and the way the staff spoke to patients and each other.

We made it to the treatment room and I noticed there was a camera dome in the room.

I showed my wife and she said there was a form she had to sign acknowledging that there was video monitoring in the clinic.

I would be very uncomfortable discussing health issues and possibly exposing a body part knowing there is a monitor somewhere with people watching.

A doctor came in carrying our discharge documentation from the hospital and told us about our childbirth experience.

Checked out the baby and said he was looking good. Left our discharge paperwork on the counter and walked out.

After a while we wondered if we were done so we started to leave.

Made it to the inside window and asked if we needed to do anything.

The woman behind the counter said “where’s your paperwork”.

My wife said that we didn’t have any. The woman stated “you saw a doctor didn’t you?” My wife tried to explain that we hadn’t been given paperwork or guidance and we were trying to figure out if we were done.

The doctor walked by and said that we were done.

The staff woman asked if we needed a follow-up appointment and we declined.

The clinic culture and patient care standards obviously works for their customers, but we’d like a little more intimate relationship with our pediatrician and a classier setting.
