Shea Homes

Unfair And Unethical Practices

Heather is incompetent and her boss John is no better.

They roped you in with the $4K incentives then they use the switch and bait and predatory lending practice on you.

They conspired with the sales folks at Shea Homes to make sure you don’t close timely or make it your fault somehow so they terminate the contract, keep your ernest money, then sell the house at the higher price due to the hot housing market in Denver.

There’s a reason why customers on the web are calling them Shady Shea.

In my opinion, Shea Home obviously made their money by stepping on people.

Not sure which federal agency(s) regulates builders or mortgage companies but Shea Homes need to be investigated for their unfair and unethical practices.

  1. construction defects

I am a homeowner, purchased my home newly built from sheahomes. Very deceived by shea homes shady business tactics, built my home with a high level of negligence and fraud, building code violations that are inimaginable. Please stay away before you spend thousands of dollars and end up in a home that you cannot live in. I ended up moving out as quickly as my home became infested with mold and I became sick with mold from water intrusion that shea homes attempted to cover up and refused to take responsibility for.

  2. Won't follow through on promises of quality/construction.

Won’t follow through on promises of quality/construction. When less than standard finish is pointed out, they provide an answer of “that’s the best to expect in this area” and “there is no other trades person we hire to do the job”. They provide every excuse as to why their work is substandard and every excuse as to why it can’t/shouldn’t be fixed.

They were also less than forthcoming when providing detail of products to be used in construction during our design phase. This led to several unwanted surprises. If given full detail upfront, different decisions would have been made. Lastly, they provide no remedies on erosion issues with the lot, despite promoting expertly engineered lots that will have no drainage/runoff issues.
