Right Toyota

Poor shopping experience

Poor shopping experience. I mentioned I was interested in Camry’s. The salesman (a “gentleman” who had recently moved from ny where he owns a restaurant and who could answer very few questions about the car) doubled up with Fabio (another “gentleman”). Fabio tried to tell us that the first salesman’s bonus depended on a sale today.

The first salesman told us he needed to wrap up this sale as his family was waiting for him. The whole experience was awkward and inappropriate. When we said we needed to think about it, the first salesman stormed off upset. Threatened us that the “great deal” they were giving us would not work tomorrow. We kept hearing about his lost bonus. What about hearing about the car we were about to buy? Deeply unprofessional.

Jason D., I am not interested in contacting you or responding to your canned response. You’ve received enough similar feedback. Please deal with it in an honest manner. I wish I could remember the first sleazeball’s name but I can’t. I believe he had a Vietnamese name but I could be wrong. Either way, please acknowledge these issues and deal with your salesmen appropriately.

We ended up leaving and bought a car next door at right Honda just because I couldn’t stand hearing about shitbird’s bonus any longer. Why did we buy it there? Because the salesman we were working with would answer some questions with “huh, I don’t know that. I need to find out”.

This gave us the opportunity to learn more than we already did about the Honda Insight and decided to go with it. This is by contrast to the salesmen we interacted with at Toyota who made up facts, e.g. “nope. Never any recalls on that Toyota.” Really? A 3 sec google search says otherwise.

    Right Toyota Sucks

Basically all lies from the sleaze ball sales guy. Attempted to complain and am getting nowhere with this Jason Decker guy. They lie for the sale and will not deliver on their commitments. AVOID these douche bags.

    Terrible experience

Terrible experience . A past customer. Credit score of 800+. Rude “Finance Manager JB” Walked out and went to Subaru. Bought a car the very same day. and will Never deal with them again.

ad a really good experience this weekend at Right Toyota.

Had a really good experience this weekend at Right Toyota. Our salesperson, Adam Rosepink, was very welcoming and relaxed – not pushy at all. We just came in to check out the new Scion iQ’s and drive one (Adam folded himself into the backseat of that tiny car like a champ!) and ended up buying the car I really wanted (a Prius) because they gave us such a great deal. Would totally return!

    This dealership was awesome.

This dealership was awesome. If you’re looking for a car, come to this dealership and personally ask for Jonathan Kang. He sold me my FR-S last week and I couldn’t be happier. He went above and beyond to provide the best customer service and made sure I was taken care of. 10/10 experience.

Right Toyota and their service department are horrible. My spouse was treated like garbage. We emailed the service manager and the general manager and they never had the guts to even respond.

    Warning! This company is evil.

Warning! This company is evil. I took my car there because I had a bad smell coming from the AC. They charged me $85, but they used a very cheap and toxic chemical.

They used Lysol to clean the AC. After few days I felt a pain in my chest with headache, and I was diagnosed with Chemical Pneumonia was a result of inhaling hight amount of Lysol. And after the Lysol smell wore off the bad smell that I had in my AC came again.

    Very phony people.

Stay away from this place! Shady high pressure. Very phony people.

Dont get screwed like I did.

dont go here. They over inflate the numbers. What they say they say they will sell you a car for in sales is not what happens. They are very good scam artist. I regret buying from them. Dont get screwed like I did.

There has to be a better place to take your business in the Scottsdale area that doesn't play these games.

Beware! Do your homework and be ready to walk out when the questionable sale tactics begin. Toyota has a quality product, but this dealership- Right Toyota is the wrong place to go for a carefree buying experience! There has to be a better place to take your business in the Scottsdale area that doesn’t play these games.

    Right Toyota Is Scam.

We moved here from CA and went to Wrong Toyota for our 20K mile service/inspection. Clearly, the techs never even looked at the vehicle. The service record states the engine air filter was dirty but I had just replaced it before the service (they didn’t even look – they just went off the miles).

Also, one of the tires had to be replaced about 500 miles ago because of a damaged sidewall. But the service record showed that the treads were even on all tires. Clearly, they didn’t even check the tires, much less ROTATE them. Makes me wonder if they did ANYTHING besides wash it. Not going back there.

    BUYER BEWARE. UNETHICAL SALESMEN.

BUYER BEWARE. UNETHICAL SALESMEN. I typically would not rate a seller, but decided to, given my poor experience. Came to Right Toyota after truecar identified dealers in the valley. I provided other dealer quotes to Devon who was very nice.

Was directed to Mash who said that he will beat those prices. However, after test driving, things went south. Mash did not know what the glass sensor option was, he did not read my email which clearly state my preference for a remote keyless entry.

The focus was on trying to sell the vehicle and they refused to share with me their proposed price. After much insistence, came in Jason from the finance team. Arrogant and rude is all we could think of. Mash and Jason insisted that I show them the competing dealer quote and at that point, I was already thinking of any other dealer. Poor knowledge, Poor behavior to customers. I went there to buy 2 Toyota highlanders, not Just one.

My review is on both the sales department and service department.

My review is on both the sales department and service department. I purchased a new 4-Runner, the entire experience was unpleasant. The sales rep was extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked my husband if we could just go to another dealership but my husband said that we had already filled out the credit form and going to another dealership would mean that our credit would get “dinged again”

My husband suggested that we suffer through the experience and at the end of the day share it with others. My service light came on recently, but my mileage was on the trip mile and not the total mileage. When I clicked it to the total mileage it was 267 miles over 30,000. I called the service department where I had been having the truck serviced, explained the situation and was told that it wasn’t a problem. However, when I arrived at the dealership, it was, they charged be $300.00 for a basic service and $200.00 for the 4wheel drive service.

I understand that I was technically over the mileage however, it would seem that there would be some loyalty for purchasing a truck from the dealership even if it was just a discount given. It seems these days businesses are only concerned with making money not with any kind of customer service. I will never use this service department nor would I ever purchase another truck from them.

than you right toyota we will be back again in the future!

we spent a whole day looking at cars and dealing with sales people in 108 degree heat before we arrived at right toyota. they were friendly , polite and did not talk down to us. we were in and out in only 1.5 hours with a trade in and getting financed! tom was our salesman and he was top notch. than you right toyota we will be back again in the future!

This one failed in every way...

It never amazes me when purchasing a car, the dealership always touts they are unlike other dealers. They care about their customers and will do what is needed to earn your business.

    Very Bad

he’s being extremely rude. He Was making comments about how if it wasn’t working when I got it I should have brought it in. I got the car in late December when the ac Wouldnt be used. Come summer time it never worked at all.

I recommend not doing business with these incompetent idiots. They’ve lost all of my business and my family’s business. I always thought Toyota was a great place to get a car and this completely turned me off.

  16. Michall F

    Don't believe it.

Have you noticed when there are multiple bad ratings for this dealership, and then all of a sudden you will see multiple five stars ratings? Don’t believe it. I believe more than likely, all the five stars rating are from the people who work for this dishonest outfit.

Recently purchased a new vehicle here.

Recently purchased a new vehicle here. My advise is to shop elsewhere. They charge you for unwanted options, won’t return emails or phone calls, and generally treat you like crap. I was forced to drive back to the dealership to gain some very simple information.

A friend recently bought a similar vehicle at a different dealership and the $890 worth of unwanted options I was charged for were free. My advice would be to try another valley dealer.

  18. Dracy Spencer

    Never again!!!

Then you read the sad reviews of so many others and feel better, because you realize its not just you that has been treated this way, you can actually identify with over 90% of their customer complaints !!

So, with the writing clearly on the wall even BEFORE any purchase has even been made, only a fool would ‘sign on the line’ with this comedy team knowing that the deplorable standard of service will only deteriorate further once you are legally tethered to them, like so many other victims have confirmed throughout these many pages of condemnation.

    WORST car buying experience EVER

WORST car buying experience EVER !!! So much Bullshit from the salesman Brandon right to the fiance guy Buckey ! We were charged for window tint that wasn’t on the windows. A month later we were told we owed more money for additional registration.

Nothing in our contract mentioned anything about that. We did not get floor mats or a cargo cover with our used Highlander. Our bad we didn’t check EVERYTHING. We were told we had floor mats placed in a stack prior to leaving. We did just not front mats.It wasn’t until i went back to pay the additional registration after being threaten with collections,

for something NOT in the sales contract. I guess sales contracts are just for the seller, that can be adjusted when they make a mistake .That i asked to get the window tint darker in exchange for paying the not listed registration . The service writer told me that the car had stock window tint, LOL , WTF??? The service writer is the ONLY reason they get 1 star. NEVER DEAL WITH BULLSHIT DEALERS

    Bad Service Provide

In the balance of probability you will have a regrettable experience with these incompetent juvenile scammers and wish you had never ventured on to their lot. (which would not be so out of place further South West of Scottsdale …….in Tijuana for example)

I spent countless frustrating hours over several weeks trying to deal with them at different levels, seems they excel at lying, not returning calls, pretending they are not available due to family emergencies, denying that they had ‘that conversation’, being unable to follow simple requests, leading you up the garden path,

not following through, busy with other customers, passing you off to another colleague, steering you in a direction that clearly benefits only themselves, did I mention just plain LYING to your face ? etc, etc, etc, etc ……..simply not worth the STRESS and insult to my intelligence, should have walked away earlier !

I only spoke to them over the phone but they were very rude unhelpful and dismissive.

I only spoke to them over the phone but they were very rude unhelpful and dismissive. They seem like very sharky stereotypical car salesmen. When your making a $30000 dollar purchase you expect to be a little more customer oriented.

I spoke to Brian he was rude and just wanted to talk me in circles. Wouldn’t be caught dead in what must be the school of sharks that is their sales dept. I will be purchasing else where. He actually had the nerve to laugh out loud at my questions. Clearly the have no concept of customer service.

  24. Kas Watson

    He is extremely rude!!!

After hearing about how Right Toyota was going to contact me to make sure I was satisfied after each service, I finally get this invite to review them after 3 years and 1 year after I stopped servicing the truck by them. While a customer, they would get me in at their leisure as each time i scheduled service online, they had no clue about it at the dealership.

They would keep me there for 2 hours each time. After the last service, I was told oil changes were only done every other visit, so why did it take 2 hours on the off visits? Oh well, I’m done with wasting my time and will not be wasting my money there.

I did get recall done at a different dealership and voila, 1 hr total time there and I got a phone call the next day asking if everything was to my satisfaction. Wow, what a difference location makes.

  25. Colleen Ward

I opted to go elsewhere for the fuel system as it seemed a bit pricey at the dealership.

Took my FJ Cruiser in for service, was told I needed the fuel system serviced in addition to a couple other things. I opted to go elsewhere for the fuel system as it seemed a bit pricey at the dealership.

I called around and found Jiffy Lube would do the 4 stage process for $60 less than the dealership. I was really disappointed when I was told my Cruiser really wasn’t in need of that service at all. Kinda makes me wonder if I really needed anything other than an oil change. 🙁

Just read Michal T's review and there is definitely some unethical conduct at Right Honda.

Just read Michal T’s review and there is definitely some unethical conduct at Right Honda. When I went to pick up my new car I found my payment was more than we had discussed. I was also given half the amount for my trade-in as I was lead to believe I was getting.

I was informed right before it was time to sign the papers. The car was also missing items that I paid for. (Rear Mat – wheel locks – tinted windows) and they never even cleaned the inside before handing it over to me.

The general manger Darrell Deak was not concerned when these issues were brought up and Jacob Kannada (sales person) tried to justify everything that soured the deal for me. I have written to Honda North America and brought my experience to their attention and there has been no action from anyone as of this writing.

I bought my car 6 weeks ago and I am still angry as heck with them. Honda may be a good product, that remains to be seen, but I will NEVER give another dime to Right Honda.

Not only is it NOT RIGHT...It's actually WRONG what they do there.

Not only is it NOT RIGHT…It’s actually WRONG what they do there. NEVER AGAIN!! Went to Right Toyota to look at a used Acura MDX last weekend. After finding a few issues with the vehicle (unrelated to Right Toyota), we decided it wasn’t “the” MDX for us.

My wife has always wanted a truck, so we decided to take a look at the Tacoma’s just to check them out since we were there. While we were very impressed and really liked the truck a lot, we simply had not gone there prepared to by a “new pick up truck”, but rather a “used Acura MDX”.

They did not understand that concept after I told him such and would not take no for an answer. It turned into constant badgering of “how can we earn your business” and “what will it take to sell you this truck today”. It got old real quick.

Yes we liked the truck, but not the color, and hadn’t really gone prepared to buy a pick-up I knew very little about. I asked if he could get us a different color, but he basically hinted to the fact that “No, Right Toyota doesn’t like to trade with other dealerships”.

  34. Martin Guptil

If not, there are plenty of other Toyota dealers in town.

During both of our test drives (the MDX and the Tacoma) I told the salesman multiple times that I generally like to buy new cars or very low mileage used cars and keep them till the wheels fall off! Our current Acura TL is 12-years old with 215,000 miles.

BUT HE NEVER LISTENED TO ME. So we finally relented and let them pull credit to start talking some numbers, because he wasn’t inclined to talk numbers until he did pull credit. So he comes out with a payment plan for a 2-year lease! Seriously.

A lease! I then told him to his face, again, “I don’t want a lease, I want to own the car and drive it for many years”. He response was, “Right Toyota wants to earn my business for all future cars and they want to see me back in 2-years when the lease expires for my next new car”!

I asked him to try again with a standard 60-month term, his response was something to the effect that 60-months is a longer term and will require additional approval. My wife and I looked at each other with the universal eye roll gesture that its time to go! But wait…that’s not all.

Before we could escape a finance department guy then comes out from the shadows and sits right between my wife and starts laying on the salesman tactics pretty thick. After a few pleasantries, he asks us, “So who is this truck for?” We respond, “for my wife”. He then proceeds to ask, “who is paying for this truck?”.

Unbelievable! Neither my wife or I were baited by his tactic. We were actually offended by the whole process and utter lack of listening skills. We will NEVER step foot back on that car lot again. If you like the hard ball sales tactics, this is place for you!!! If not, there are plenty of other Toyota dealers in town.

    Not Good Service Provide

I had agreed on a price for a car. Then the Finance Manager decided to jack up the price after I’d already started the paperwork. I was really shocked by this bizzare unethical behavior.

I talked to many people after this $12 trick they tried to pull and nobody has ever heard of anything like that happening in their entire history of buying cars. It was WEIRD.

It was really strange that they wanted to jeopardize the sale of the car over a mere $12 price increase, and I’ll never understand why they tried so hard to blow the sale after I’d already agreed to buy the car.

After buying the car I found out they spelled my name wrong on the registration. I emailed them to ask for help correcting the error and they did not even reply.

WE HAVE A GOOD NEWS FOR YOU! YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR ORDER IN NEXT 10 DAYS

We ordered new navigation disk for my Highlander on Monday, January 25th (Service representative, Darvin, placed the order in our presence ). He told us that it would take about a week and somebody from Parts department will contact us.

A week later (on February 1st) we stopped by at Right Toyota dealership and asked Darvin about status of our order. He told us that because it is a new disk and it should come from California there will be another week to wait. Also, we spoke with Parts department representative on the same day and he confirmed that.

Today, February 10, (after two weeks and a half of our original order) we called the Service department and were told that our order was never placed. We asked Parts department representative to find out what happened with our original order and why we were told twice that order was in place.

He put us on hold for about 30 minutes and never came back. In order to resolve the problem, we drove to Right Toyota. We spoke with Assistant Service Manager Bob M, who placed a new order for us. Then, we spoke with the Manager of Parts department, who told us that order was never placed.

He promised us to resolve this problem and expedite our order. After we came home we received a phone message with something like “WE HAVE A GOOD NEWS FOR YOU! YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR ORDER IN NEXT 10 DAYS.” Is this is a joke? What kind of customer service is it?

  39. Eric Garcia

They will not sell you a car that you want, they will only sell whats convenient for them.

had traded in a white 4dr 4×4 trd off road for a Tacoma trd off-road. My vehicle was payed off and they gave me 22k for the trade in. I knew that my payments should be in the 200-300 range.

I had walked out with a 550/mo payment and am not happy. They took my trade in and knew what it was worth and made it seem like my credit was horrible.

They were quick to take my trade in but no help to get me the payments that were reasonable. Also, when selling me a vehicle, they tried selling me a vehicle that I did not want. They were pushing a customers vehicle that was ordered from the factory and backed out. I had told them what I had wanted and they were determined to sell what they had on site.

They will not sell you a car that you want, they will only sell whats convenient for them. Buyers beware as any other dealer will give you an honest experience as Toyota is quality all the way.

    Beware the service department's recommendations

Beware the service department’s recommendations. I took my Prius in for an oil change. The called me later in the day to tell me that it is very unusual, but my brakes were completely worn down and needed new rear brakes right away for $250.

I had already agreed to other services that day, but it was adding up to be too much money so I opted to pass. They told me that I should really get them done soon since they will only last another 5,000 miles or so. So about a week later, I took the car to Brakes Plus. They said my brakes were great and I still had 60-70 % of them left.

I took my Toyota into Right Toyota Service Department for repair after calling them for a quote.

I took my Toyota into Right Toyota Service Department for repair after calling them for a quote. Two employees misquoted the price of the repair, one on the phone and one face-to-face. When the repair was completed and I found out that the cost was twice what I had expected, the Service Department Rep and I got into a heated argument at his desk.

He kept trying to tell me that I simply had misunderstood him, which I hadn’t as I had been very specific about what I wanted done. And saying your sorry doesn’t change the fact that you’re using bait-and-switch pricing tactics with customers. When I returned home I contacted the General Manager about the issue.

He tried to lure me back by telling me how sorry he was, however I declined his offer because something tells me I’m not the first person who has had this problem with them. Funny thing is, no one there seemed surprised at my reaction. I wouldn’t take my car there again if it were free.

    Very Poor Service.

I bought a used car 3 months ago. They owe me money. They goofed on sending the title info to my state. They never return phone calls. Very frustrated.

  43. Daniel R

    Worst car dealer experience ever.

After protracted haggling over price, we came to an agreement and I was writing out the check when they came back and said they sold the truck to someone else over the Internet.

  44. Simon Roberts

I will never ever refer anyone to buy a vehicle from them.

Right toyota is the worst place to buy a car. I purchased my Tacoma from them and I come to find out a year later I know my bad. I was told and signed that my used truck was 26k out the door come to find out on my credit and the total amount I finance is over 32k I got ripped off. They lie between there teeth on what your getting. I will never ever refer anyone to buy a vehicle from them.

  45. Teddy Turner

    DO NOT get that

Hmmm bought a new Rav from Right and my girlfriend wanted one also so she went out to the dealer in Sun City ad got then EXACT same Rav, color and all for 5K LESS!!!! and hers came with the roof rack and the two additional rails that go across the top and mud flaps and the plastic strips that go on the doors so as to not chip the paint….Thank you Right Toyota I won’t be back…rip off!!!

Oh, and I still can’t get anyone to tell me how the GPS works!! DO NOT get that…go to Costco and get the garmin…..and I did go thru COSTCO for the best price and still got taken….go figure…I am writing Costco a letter ALSO!! They assured me that I was getting the best deal going thru Costco……HELL-O CAMELBACK!!

i will not have anything done at the service dept there

We recently purchased a new 4 runner and a tundra from right toyota and our salesman, A.J Abdul, was outstanding. They had to fix the door guards on the 4 runner which were installed poorly to say the least. When the service dept.guy, tracy andrew, looked at it he said he would only replace one.

After i told him what i thought of his attitude and opinion i asked him if he would be satisfied with that level of quality he replied that he wouldn’t have had them installed and that is the level of quality they do and will continue to do.

I took it beyond him and got it handled but tracy andrew in the servce dept. Is certainly a worthless individual in that capacity and because of his attitude i will not have anything done at the service dept there

we were looking for a Sequoia.

My wife and I stopped in the end of the day Christmas Eve. we were looking for a Sequoia. As it was the end of thr day before Christmas we decided to come back the day after.

We were told by Sam the salesman that we were looking at the only Sequoia they had, in fact, it was one of only six in Arizona. He also told us the towing capacity was 11,000 lbs.

After our test drive we sat down in Sam’s cubicle and Faben the sales manager told us the towing capacity was 9,000 lbs. Funny my online research told us it was actually 7,400 lbs.

We were offered a deal with our trade valued at 1/2 of Kelly Blue Book trade value nd full sticker price. I guess the sticker price was due to the so called “rarity” of the Sequoia.

Finally my brother who was wandering the lot came in and told us there was another Sequoia sitting around the corner equipped exctly the same as the one we drove.

Wasted my time and gas! Not a good experience.

Had a 1:30 pm appointment for a specific model that EJ said they had in stock. Arrived on time EJ stated he had me down for 9:00am.. Never tried to call to see if I was still coming to test drive the SR5. Got to dealership, EJ took me out to the lot and DID NOT have the vehicle I wanted to test drive / see. Wasted my time and gas! Not a good experience.

    Bad Service

I had my car serviced at this dealership twice and I used to be happy till their service department did not provide any customer service. I called their location twice in two consecutive days and on the second day they said that they put me on the “Priority List” and still no call back.

I even called the Service Manager on the third day and left him a voice message as to why I was so displeased and they still did not even try to do damage control. This location is in dire need of customer service training. The lack of professionalism and customer service is forcing me to blacklist Right Toyota or as I now call it “Wrong” Toyota.

    What a bad experience.

What a bad experience. I bought a new car back in December and the finance manager put a gap insurance in the contract without showing to me. He definitely skipped that line and being in light gray color I didn’t see it. After one month I noticed it and immediately called them to ask them to cancel the gap insurance. It was end of January.

I finally go tit canceled August 13 after 15 phone calls and 15 emails. I found out that they make so much money with gap insurance and that in order to get paid by the insurance company the policy must be in force for at least 3 months. If they cancel it before 90 days the dealer ship won’t get paid by the insurance company.
