Renaissance Health & Wellness

Dr. Angela Barrow is one of the hatred person

My first experience with Dr. Angela Barrow from Renaissance Health & Wellness started with a phone call to find out why they had not sent the paperwork for my mom’s med to the pharmacy.

She has Alzheimer’s as well as chronic pain from arthritis, not to mention a colostomy.

The person on the phone treated me like a stranger and was uncaring even when I said  I was her caregiver.

She acted like she was unaware of Alzheimer’s, and what that means with all of her healthcare.

‘She has to come and see a doctor to get new prescriptions’.

This is Friday before Christmas week and Dr. Angela Barrow (who we love and has been Mom’s PCP for many years) did not have an opening until the Monday after Christmas. ‘You can see another doctor.’ That doesn’t work with Alzheimer’s patients.

BTW: I did not receive an announcement of the take over of the clinic by RW&H nor the change in policies.

So we have to wait over a week to see Dr. Angela. When we get there, we see the clinic has been completely remodeled, walls taken down, new floors, big screen TV’s, the works.

Even a beverage station with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and water. Ok, so they spent lots of money on the space, but did they spend any money on service training.

I guess they forgot that part. We arrive early as we were told to do, to fill out new paperwork. I can understand that, when changeovers happen, computer programs don’t talk to each other.

As I am finishing the paperwork Mom’s name is called, and I don’t hear it the first time. Mom sure doesn’t hear that.

I barely hear it the second time, and we get up and slowly make it to the back.

The attendant says something to Mom neither of us hear, and I tell her Mom has Alzheimer’s and doesn’t hear well either.

No change in tone or volume. Uncaring. We get to the exam room and she starts asking her questions, she can’t hear or answer guickly.

I say again that she has Alzheimer’s and can hear, so I start answering the questions.

She asks ‘health issues?’ I say ‘Lots!’ She says, ‘well we have to put something down’. Uncaring.

Finally, Angela comes in.

Did we say we love her? Been her PCP for years? Quick as a whip she takes care of the new prescriptions and checks her health in a very caring and loving way.

That’s what you do for Alzheimer’s patients. We talk about me, too. That’s what you do for caregivers.

A few days later, we get a phone call from someone from the clinic about her allergies.

She insists on speaking with ‘Janie’, and even asks me if I’m Janie.

I say, again, she has Alzheimer’s, can’t hear, and won’t remember anything you tell her.

She says, ‘Oh, I don’t have her file in front of me.’ I tell her we did not come in for her allergies, and that there is not a lot that can be done for them.

Benadryl is not good for Alzheimer’s patients, and we use local honey in her tea every morning for the pollen allergies.

She is also allergic to latex.

She is not helpful and we agree to hang up. So today, I call the pharmacy to find out if they have the new paperwork, and guess what? They don’t!

Dr. Barrow gave me copies of the prescriptions ‘just in case the paperwork doesn’t get faxed from the clinic’.

We have waited another week, I should say wasted another week, and I have to fax the prescriptions to the pharmacy.

I guess they only treat healthy people. Good luck if you have chronic/terminal illnesses.

BTW: the only reason post this report is because of Dr. Angela Barrow. Did I say we love her?

My experience at Renaissance Health and Wellness was great! The staff was extremely professional and courteous. The facility was very clean and welcoming.

  2. This was my first visit since Renaissance joined the business.

This was my first visit since Renaissance joined the business. I was worried that it would be cold, unfriendly, and crowded, but they were quite friendly. I was able to get in the next day for a non-emergent routine visit and blood work.

The front office staff greeted me promptly and my wait was minimal. I saw Dr. Angela Barrow only a few minutes after the nurse completed her cursory questions. My prescriptions were sent to my pharmacy and were ready to pick up within an hour. Every staff member I had contact with was personable and caring. I am impressed. Will keep going back!

  3. It's also very clean and modern.

Definitely 5 stars for my experience at this clinic. Friendly staff and knowledgable doctors. It’s also very clean and modern.

  4. I was a patient of Dr. Angela, she is great and I would highly recommend her.

I was a patient of Dr. Angela, she is great and I would highly recommend her. I dislike this change with renaissance health and wellness..yes they came and made changes to the waiting area however since they have taken over things hasn’t worked out the greatest. First off since DR. Angela is with them she is no longer in the network with my insurance company.

Second I had a allergy test done by DR. Angela request once they did the test, told me I was allergic to pretty much everything under the sun the workers that performed the test tried to convince me that I needed to began taking allergy shots. When I left the clinic that day I told them I needed to think about it and speak with my husband..the lady told me the shot would be good for a year. Less than two months later I began receiving bills for over two thousand dollars for shots made up for a year that I never received. I never even got one shot!??

How is this right..I’ve decided I will be contacting the attorney general and anyone else that will listen. I’ve called the clinic several times trying to speak with someone regarding this and we’ve gotten no where. I was told at the time of my testing there was a different allergy company there. Pure rip off. I hope Dr. Angela gets an office somewhere else I will defiantly follow her.

  5. this is a joke.

this is a joke. there are so many employees and they do not know what they are doing. i went for my first visit which tooke 2 1/2 hours. on my second visit 45 minutes after my appt they still did not even know i was there. i told them i would not be back because it was such a mess.

they were trying to treat my fee for neuropathy and i do not have neuropathy in my feet. they could not treat my hands because i had such a back burn. their treatment is a joke. the doctors are just walking around and doing nothing

  6. I had some blood drawn to check hormone levels.

I had some blood drawn to check hormone levels. I called back three days later to check the results and get my prescription updated. I was told they would check and call me back. This happened three times. I finally got a call from the PHARMACY asking if I wanted my prescription filled.

The doctor’s office never even called to let me know they wrote one! Then I realized it was the same prescription as last time, even though my levels were still low. When I had my blood work drawn, the office was still in the process of being remodeled,

but they had made the change to Renaissance. There was no mention of policy changes. The next time I went back in to see the doctor in person – they told me they no longer take walk-in appointments! None of the office staff were retained from before the changeover to Renaissance. The office is full of trainees training the trainees. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HEALTHCARE LOCATION.

  7. I will now have to change doctors. Farewell, Doctors Rob & Angela.

I have been a patient of Your Doctor’s Office for the past 15 years and have always received excellent care and prompt service from the medical, nursing and clerical staff. I was somewhat dismayed to discover they had been taken over by another company and all the old nursing staff had been dismissed. Nevertheless,

I called and made an appointment for 11:30 on a Wednesday to have my prescriptions renewed (the new folks couldn’t refill them without me being seen by a clinician) and to discuss some new symptoms. I arrived at 11:15, signed in and was given a sheaf of forms to complete. I turned those back into the reception staff about 20 minutes later and sat down in the remodeled waiting room.

  8. Have called and Called this Renaissance office in Little Rock.

Have called and Called this Renaissance office in Little Rock. I have called that office 6 times in the past two months and emailed at least that many and each time I am told that this LORI will have to call back before I can get an appointment.

Going on Month 3 and still no contact. I figure if something as simple as calling a potential customer back was beyond their capabilities what would it be like if you finally get back to see a doctor and by some of these complaints I see on here.

I have lost any if not all interest in any of the treatments they might have to offer. Looks to me they offer all these treatment buy yet fail to do any of it. I found everyone of these other posters comments very helpful about continuing to try to get an appointment to this place. I shall be looking else where for my treatments.

  9. I agree with previous notes.

I agree with previous notes. “Thanks for ruining ‘Your Doctor’s Office”. Please find a detailed email about my experience yesterday in your inbox. Or I guess it was the correct email as the receptionist had to put me on hold to get it. MadMax

  10. This place is horrible.

This place is horrible. I got the worst nurse I have ever had in my life. Scared the crap out of me and then made fun of me and was increasingly rude to me while trying to do the treatment. The worst experience I have ever had and I will not be back. Hope this place goes out of business or at least this woman gets fired. Good riddance.

  11. Not Good Service Provide

I suggest you run, don’t walk, from this business.
