RCI Travel Packages

RCI Travel scams people through false advertising

After checking their ad which was very exciting, I paid for RCI travel package. The package was worth $1999. I paid a deposit of $199 and was out on a monthly payment of $100 for 18 months. The company also told me that I could use the certificate for years. As a gift, the travel package included 7 day cruise which also included 2 and 1 week hotel stay for a couple.

While booking the cruise I missed the cut off date by one day. However, I was told an altogether another date. Anyway, I tried to talk the consultant into it and I was turned away. I was told that I will have to pay an additional cost of $1300 to upgrade the package for enjoying the cruise. Or, I can pay $599 per cruise certificate and $399 per resort stay certificate. This will extend my booking date for 6 more months.

I am not at all convinced with what these people have to say. I have paid for three certificates already. And, now I cannot even use these certificates. This company also does not refund your money. Once you have paid, you can never expect it back.

If you are not using your package, they will offer an upgradation plan. However, you have to buy another package of $3400 to be able to upgrade your plan. This is not only expensive but would get you nothing that you have paid for.

The company uses fraud tactics to lure customers and in return they get nothing. This is not the end. This company charges fees that were never told. When you will try to use these certificates, they will charge taxes on these certificates. This was never told when I wanted to buy the package. The resort stay does not come for free. You pay a lot even after paying for the entire travel package.

After all these frauds, the company management is not polite enough to handle queries with ease. You get to know so many words that you never had heard before. These guys are abusive and keep disconnecting your call if it is not a sales person you are looking for.

I was not given any concession for the money I paid to them. They did not assist me in getting the reservations that I should have. They gave me a wrong date and closed the reservations early. All these wasn’t enough that they asked me to pay more. They have the nerve to keep asking you for your money.

The people working here have no empathy and are advised to scam customers. No one will listen to your problems. These guys are scammers and fraudsters. You cannot expect mercy and genuine answers from these guys.

They will eat your money. They are illegally advertising their packages and trying to make people believe in something that is not ever going to happen. Soon, they will be closed for fraud and scam. I want to see all from RCI behind bar.

  1. Lost $4000.00 US due to certificate being cancelled twice by RCI TRAVEL

Four years ago we purchased a cruise travel package from RCI travel packages. We booked the cruise at that time and in 2021 it was cancelled by RCI due to COVID. We rebooked again for a cruise for June 2023 which was again cancelled due the war in RUSSIA. When we tried to rebook our cruise we were to,d that the certificate was now expired. We asked if they could extend the certificate as we were not at fault for cancellations. Were told over a series of phone calls I made to RCI. travels that I should continue to call and that a request had been submitted on our behalf for an extension, The agents continue to say to call again next week but the answer is always the same. They stole our money

    1. Fraud

I bought a travel package from EWW/RCI TRAVEL PACKAGE. We booked the cruise for Alaska. They cancelled our trip due to Covid-19. Since there were no dates available at the time for rebooting, we had to wait until the cruises were opening their ships again.
I received several calls from these people. I’ve paid two different times which made it well over $4000. The last call was to insure that I could use this package at any time I wished.
In March of 2020 my husband had catastrophic surgery. I explained this to them.
      Today’s call was unforgivable.
They have fraudulently taken money from my account without my knowledge. RCI says it wasn’t them. EWW TRAVEL IS no longer in business. Liars*** all of them.

  2. Unreal!!!!

Have booked with this company before and was able to use both the resort stay and cruise. It was great – BUT – not the same experience this time. Even then – to get what I wanted – it cost me! Additional fees to get a decent room at a decent time – not a lot available – port fees for the cruise etc.

I purchased another package prior to COVID and lost it all. Lost the resort stay altogether. Cruise was cancelled and I was supposed to get a new certificate but of course it never came and when I try to log on – it says my membership has expired.

I have spent HOURS on hold – actually on hold as I type this trying to get this resolved but if you do get someone on the line – you just get transferred several times and eventually (after a couple of hours) the elevator music just goes away and you realize no one is ever coming back so you hang up and try again.

DO NOT BOOK with this company!!!! I really hope this company is not really part of RCI!!

I am now at 30 minutes and no one has even answered. Spent 3 hours yesterday on hold.

  3. Total Scam!!! Save your money!!! Class Action Suit...let's do it.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! After purchasing the package initially so I could stay in a hotel for my family. After going through all of the hoops, and making the payment, they closed and I was unable to make the reservation using the package. About one year later, I tried to use the package again and I could not reach anyone. When I was finally able to reach someone, I was convinced to upgrade to a more expensive package with cruises. In the conversation, I explained my reservation due to the lack of communication and I was promised that this person would be available and he gave me his direct extension. Of course, when I wanted to use it, he was no longer at the company and I was passed around between agents. Of course, the next time I tried to use it, you no longer had an agent that was assigned to you and you were left to whoever answered the phone. Of course, then the pandemic hit and no one was traveling or going on cruises and my certificates have expired. Now I am reminded that I was told that I had two years to book the reservations, but I recall the last time I spoke with someone I thought it was extended, but obviously not and I am told that the packages are no longer available and there is no way to get my money back.
My suggestion…SAVE YOUR MONEY. and Ella, I’d be with you on a class action lawsuit.
