Pure Organic Spa

The products quality/service /price ratio was poor

First time visit for a facial as a gift from my husband. Very nice ambiente and necessary paperwork before the beginning. Being an esthetician myself, I was looking forward to some pampering this time. The spa table was heated which was great. I was a little disappointed because there was no ozone steam used and the facial started with a 2 step cleansing followed by an exfoliator.

However the facial touch felt so fast and hectic that I did not feel “pampered.” Two hot towels felt great, though for only a short time. Followed by a mask, another mask, a short neck and decollete massage and a short basic hand/arm massage (without being asked to take my jewelry off or sanitize my hands first after coming in from a shopping trip). It was only a 40 min facial “Hollywood Glow “but I did not feel “glamorous” after this kind of treatment, it felt much shorter and rushy rushy, not very relaxing, no soothing music either. No day make up at least offered (!) afterwards. The products used smelled great but the quality/service /price ratio was poor for $75 plus tip. I do not like to write harsh reviews, but they hopefully will improve service if taken seriously.
I would most likely not return to this place.

  1. A GREAT experience!

This Spa gets it right, from the great prices, customer service and services you can’t go wrong. They ownership truly understands what taking care of clients means. This believe is from they top down. A GREAT experience!

  2. Also great tea afterwards.

Great spot ! Both times I’ve been the masseuses have been fantastic and also very responsive to input during the actual massage. Also great tea afterwards.

  3. It was my birthday present and I had a really great time.

It was my birthday present and I had a really great time. Although, I feel that the girl was in a rush and I haven’t received the whole service (too short). Other than that, the décor and relaxing atmosphere welcomes you the minute you step in.

  4. Couples massage was very mediocre.

Couples massage was very mediocre. We expected a little more from an establishment with such high reviews.

  5. but I never received a response.

I had high hopes for my treatment here after seeing the reviews. The space is gorgeous, however my experience both in booking the massage and during, was one of my worst experiences ever.

I came down with the flu a few days before my initial appointment, and had such a hard time reaching someone via phone. They had no voice message system set up, and so I had to keep trying back. I emailed them as well via the email address that they had confirmed my appointment with, but I never received a response.

  6. I live very close to Union Square and thought this spa could be very convenient.

I live very close to Union Square and thought this spa could be very convenient. I had a hard time on the phone because the girl who was asking the phone that day doesn’t speak English fluently. I had to wait 12 MINUTES on the phone because there wasn’t an English speaker available at that time. Horrible experience!!!

If I can’t get enough information by phone, there’s not good costumer service or language is a strong barrier I prefer stay away of this place. My sister invited me to go to a Spa because of my birthday. I was surprised when I was in front of Pure Organic Spa. A nice decoration and location just steps away from Union Square are the best marketing tools of this place.

  7. I got sick of arguing and ended up paying for a discounted massage that I never got.

Paid for the massage via massagenow.co and chose a female masseuse. I got there and they said they never got the request for a female masseuse and there was only a male masseuse available.

Massagenow.co said it was requested and confirmed that it would be a female masseuse. I got sick of arguing and ended up paying for a discounted massage that I never got.

  8. Horrible therapist who seemed angry

I wanted a relaxing massage and facial, as I was traveling a lot. Instead, I got Gail, who pointedly ignored the areas I wanted her to focus on and told me there were other areas I needed to have worked on. I left with bruises. When I told her she was hurting me, she told me to breathe into it. When she bent my leg in an uncomfortable position (something no massage therapist has ever done), I told her it hurt and I had some arthritis in my knee. She actually YELLED at me for not telling her this before.

I gave up trying to tell her what felt good or bad, because she clearly felt she knew better. During my facial, she was so abrupt with her movements that I got cream IN MY MOUTH AND NOSE. Honestly, I was scared of her. She seemed unstable. Afterward, she wanted to talk about the experience and I just said “it was fine” and got out of there as fast as possible.

  9. Small intimate spa, loved the signature massage.
