Provident Funding Associates LP is the worst mortgage company ever on the surface on the Earth!
Seriously, everyone I speak about and who had any sort of interactions with them have only bad things to say.
Escrow company hates them because they change final statements all the time and have them last minute changes, clients hate them for the same reason, loan officers hate them because they don’t get paid in time (see review below), notary guys hate them because they are super picky on all the documents and ask to redo signed documentation all the time.
Okay, now back to my own experience. These guys are unbelievable, they have managed to make mistakes in the final closing statement 5 TIMES and every time I had to drive to an escrow company office to bring in more funds.
And every time the changes they make are in the last hours before the closing time.
Just in the very last day when the % lock is expiring (was extended already because all of the error they could not get it funded in time), I’ve got a call AGAIN a 45 minutes before closing time cut off (12:30) from an escrow company asking me to bring ANOTHER check to their office ASAP (this is after I have asked just the same day in the morning if the statement is final and would not change again at closing and got a positive, i.e. yes final-final, answer).
This routine is absolutely unacceptable, I had to urgently reschedule by day around to get to their office before 12:30 and wasted another 2h of my work time.
I will need clear explanation from the lender about this unprofessional behavior from their side, it’s 5th time they are changing estimate and I have already wasted 5h of my time to accommodate their ever changing calculations.
It’s 5th time when the estimate was changed and making changes 1 hour before closing time is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
All in all, the loan was funded and closed finally, but at the expense of at least of 8h of my work time which does not come for free in my line of work.
Thank you very much for wasting my money.
I definitely would never ever use this company for mortgage or any other loans and do not recommend to an
