Police and Fire Federal Credit Unio...

Customer Service

Do not use this credit union for anything. They have no account security whatsoever.

They allowed an unauthorized overseas charge on my account.

I am use to my main credit union who won’t even allow airline tickets to be charged let alone a charge from overseas unless I call them to authorize it.

When I called PPFcu to ask why, the representative had to first put me on hold to get the reason from somewhere and then proceeded to tell me some bullcrap that they use some type of computer algorithms to judge whether or not a company seems to be legitimate.

The company that made the erroneous charge was supposed to be giving me a refund and they had no idea how it turned into a charge.

I gave PPFcu the stated proof from them saying as much.

After PPFcu did their “thorough” investigation they concluded that it was a legitimate charge.

How can it be legitimate when the company that made the charge is telling you it was a mistake?!

The company did it’s own investigation and found that their bank made an error when batching their transactions. But still PPFcu says it was legitimate.

And during this investigation I had to keep calling back to find out what was going on because no one would call me.

Maybe all banks and credit unions are like this except the one that I have had for 30 years and I have just been spoiled.

I have never had any issues with customer service or the investigations into fraud charges when dealing with my main credit union.

These people are a bunch of idiots!

  1. Fraudulent Charge NoRefund

This is the worst credit union and bank ever. Do not use them for anything. They are not reliable, accountable or transparent. I had a fraudulent charge made on my credit card of $500. I had to cancel the credit card three times within 2 weeks. I called into the credit card fraud center several times. No real assistance was received. They sent me paperwork to complete for a dispute about the fraudulent transaction. Now, they are trying to hold me responsible for the fraudulent charge by asking for receipts. My card was locked and not in use at the time of the fraudulent activity. All 3 cards behind it have been locked with no further activity until this issue is resolved. Yet, they are placing this fraudulent charge on me. I will no longer be doing business with this bank again. I will take my business elsewhere to better customer service and less financial stress. This is nonsense that you PFFCU treats it’s customers like we are stupid.

  5. It started with paying a bill on line.

It started with paying a bill on line. In the past the credit union would take the money out of your account right away- regardless if the bill was paid or not. I thought this was great as it allowed me to better track my money. They changed that and didn’t take the money out until the check was cashed even though it came from bill pay. Now I have to be careful that I leave money in the account especially if I am getting close to 0. This whole issue was one of the reasons I left a Bigger Asinine Company that called itself a Bank.

Then the process with ordering the days transactions. If your account is close to zero and you wrote a check and made some debit transactions they began ordering the way those transactions occurred from largest to smallest. Again, if your balance is close to zero – watch out.

Fortunately, my account hasn’t been close to zero in sometime so the above two issues haven’t been a problem for me.

More recently, I saw a charge for 1.00 ATM transaction fee. I thought that fees at wawa were free and unlimited. I found out they are not. I called the customer service and they have become rude. They once seemed nice – even if you were in the wrong. I called once and had to argue with the representative for 20 minutes.

I explained that the website is confusing that I have had more than 12 transactions at the wawa ATM in past and that I was never charged. I felt as though all they had to say was, ‘well we can refund the $1.00 and just know going forward that you can not take out more than 12 transactions outside of PFFCU ATM machines’. But, it turned into a a ‘pissing’ contest.

  6. Scammer

Wow. I was surprised to read the reviews of this “financial institiution”. Anytime they (PFFCC) allege that 642 x 0 is not zero, I would worry. I know for a FACT that the CU (and/or their representatives) altered documents, told lies, (which they would allege to be “errors”) and other activity that would put you or I in JAIL.

  7. They offer bad service and the reps are always just trying to get you off the phone.

Don’t apply for their Visa Credit line because even though they advertise that it arrives within 7-10 business days, it really takes about a month or two before you actually get it. It’s ridiculous. I applied for another card on the same day and received that one within a week. They offer bad service and the reps are always just trying to get you off the phone.

  8. Never Again

I’ve been a customer for almost 40 years, have had numerous loans etc over the years, have kept my CD’s in there for years, and have my monthly disability pension direct deposited there as well.

When I encountered some rather substantial health care expenses, rather than cashing in one of my CD’s I was able to obtain a modest “pledge” loan using part of a CD as collateral, this arrangement also allowed for the loan payments to be made directly from my disability pension check.

However for some reason, rather than the payment being deducted directly from my check as I had agreed upon, apparantley the full check was being deposited into my account, and the payment deducted a few days later.

This came to my attention when I was recently hospitalized, and my wife unaware of the discrepency left the checking account balance too low to cover the full payment due amount.

The result was that although we have been longtime customers, and have assets deposited in the credit union to cover loan many times over, when the remainder of the payment reached two weeks past the due date, ALL of our accounts and assets were frozen.

My wife was of course panic stricken as this is our sole source of income, and sole banking institution, and she was effectively penniless, but was assured that the freeze of the accounts would be lifted once the balance of the payment was made.

My wife explained that her husband was hospitalized, and that she had no way of paying the remaining balance due until my next disability pension checked arrived in another 12 days.

She was advised that the freeze was initiated by their collections department, could not be lifted, but that she had the option of paying an early redemption penalty and redeeming one of the large CD’s we had.

  9. Their customer service is shit also. Pass on PFFCU and go to Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union

This is the only company I ever heard of that requires you to have a specific deductible on your auto policy. They won’t disclose that though to begin with. But months later they start sending you demand letters, with a threat that they will tack on some ridiculous protection that will cost you $1300 if you don’t.

  10. Worst Bank ever.

Worst Bank ever. Poor Customer Service No assistance to customers with issues. Banking here for years and there is no respect for loyalty.Highly don’t recommend. After many years will bank with a professional bank who respects their customers and who want to keep business.

  11. Who ever they hired to rebuild the site should be fired.

I have been a customer for years. Recently they made changes to their online Bill Pay. I was not able to use the site unless I allowed all cookies, Pop ups and Flash player, all which Microsoft advised against. Who ever they hired to rebuild the site should be fired. In this day and age with Cyber theft you think they would be making it harder, no they are making it easier for Thieves access to your information.
