The Worst Customer Service

Do NOT use Pike Creek Mortgage Services! Mark Coffman has to be the very best example of the worst possible customer service ever.

We were given a commitment letter that our payment would be 1000.77, and when we asked Michelle Peters in an email if that included everything (taxes, interest, and insurance), she said yes.

My husband got a call from Mark four days later stating very coldly that Michelle was wrong and the amount will be 1220.00 +… We have been dicked around when it came to our closing date… first it was 4/20… now it MIGHT be 4/30 “at the latest”… after we made it clear we needed out of our apartment by 5/1.

We were also told our loan was approved and then got a denial letter.

Apparently the date supplied by the seller when he acquired the deed to the home was incorrect so we were forced to resign and resubmit all of the paperwork reflecting new dates, including the same damn tax information and pay stubs we already gave them!

When I called to vent my frustration to Mark, he called my husband and proceeded to insult me.

My husband told me what was said and I was furious! Never EVER go through this company!

It has soured our first time home buying experience, and with me being 4 months pregnant, I certainly didn’t want or need this ridiculous amount of stress.

  1. Not a professional company

    Buyer beware. Pike Creek is not an ethical organization. Based on my experience with Pike Creek representatives I have come to conclusion that they are unethical and corner the clients into bad lending terms. Pike Creek team were engaged with me to close on a brand new construction. They maintained an illusion of rate lock and even got a ton of documents from me under the pretext that they were “extending” the rate lock. They did the “rate extension” twice. Exactly 1 week before the closing they sent a document to “lock” the rate. When I expressed my surprise, they maintained that rate is never locked until there is a clear closing date[almost in a condescending tone]. Naturally I wanted to review initial rate lock paperwork but Sean and team had cleverly deleted that from data room. It was too short a time for me to change lender so I was forced to accept new rate. Then Sean gave me a lot of rates [each one several points higher than market] with various cash-to-close amounts. At this time they cleverly did not disclose that they were hiding their fee in the guise of points and never offered 0 points rate option. Being a seasoned real estate customer this is the only broker I have come across that offered lowest lending cost of 2%. For my jumbo loans this was 1000s of $$s. Remember this is over and above all the other lending fees that they were going to collect. I only found out when they send closing disclosure to me for signature. When I questioned they bullied me with “if you go to other lenders now you will end up paying builder fees for each day of delay plus the rebate we are giving in transfer taxes. I pulled all my resources and closed the deal in cash. I am never going to engage Pike Creek ever again.

  3. Everyone we felt with at pike creek was great.

    Everyone we felt with at pike creek was great. They went out of the way and above a Beyond. Our first house fell through ( sellers fault ). Our team went all out when we found our house to get everything done in three weeks and get us to the table. This is our third house and we have never had things go this smoothly. Thank you Ben and the whole team.
