NC FHA Expert

The Worst Experiences

My husband and I refinanced our home through Mr. Thorne.

We have been through several closings in the past, and this was the worst of our experiences.

We were not apprised of the status of our refinance throughout the process.

Our emails were not returned, and two months after closing, we are still waiting for an invoice of certain charges and copies of our documents.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend Mr. Thorne’s services.

  1. I bought my home last year with the help of Steve Thorne.

I bought my home last year with the help of Steve Thorne. He was always back in touch with me promptly when I had questions or concerns regarding my loan, and helped me with some old things on my credit report and explained all of the first time home buyer program details- and best of all what he told me I would need for closing was actually within $60! I think he is a great resource and I recommend first time home buyers use him for your home loan.

  2. He honestly helped us when no one else would and went way above and beyond.

We purchased a home a couple of months ago and found Steve Thorne through his informative blog. It was the first blog that I had found which actually offered specific, useful information in regards to FHA and USDA loans.

We came with baggage in the form of a credit report peppered with errors and worsened by using a credit clean up service a previous mortgage broker had suggested. Steve took the time to review our report and point us in the right direction. Within a month we were preapproved.

The house we chose was not a cookie cutter FHA home. It had acreage and outbuildings. Steve was incredibly honest about the house potentially having appraisal issues which we totally appreciated. Fortunately, we did not have appraisal issues but did have a last minute (and I mean last minute) credit hurdle which came out of nowhere.

Steve personally made calls when we were caught in customer service purgatory between 2 credit agencies and rectified the situation. At this point, we were living in an expensive vacation rental as our old lease had expired and we were technically homeless. Not to mention, we were boarding farm animals in two different counties.

Steve was able to use his diplomacy skills again when he was able to urge the only law office in town to close our loan despite a vacationing paralegal. At times, I felt he was the only person who wanted this loan to close. I cannot say enough about Steve. He honestly helped us when no one else would and went way above and beyond.
