McMurrays Heating & A C

I didnt feel lke I was taking out a second mortgage.

Unreliable, unprofessional, and difficult to work with.

Based on the great reviews here, I had my property manager try to use McMurrays to fix my HVAC system.  In addition to a quote $4,000 above the competitor, the feedback from my tenant and the property manager was extremely negative.  And I’m out $200-300 for the estimate!

1. The guy took the check to pay for the estimate, gave a 4hr window for the apt time on a work day, and didn’t show up.

2. They didn’t answer calls, when they did they were too busy to talk, and took forever o call back.

3. When the guy finally came he talked to the tenant, went to check it the roof and the disappeared.

4. When we finally got the quote it was literally $4,000 or 200% higher than the competitions.

5.  The property manager had to push hard to get him to disclose that there was another solution (just replacing a part instead of the whole thing), which would cost way less.

This company is poorly managed if not incompetent.  They wasted my time and money.

  1. what a waste

This company came out to assess the problem with our AC last year and after ordering only partial parts needed to fix the problem and installing incorrectly, breaking other parts, charging for parts that they clearly did not get or provide…it then got worse.

Instead of running the drain pipe correctly they glued it and then the overflow pump did not work as non of the triggers went off or were tested. After weeks they came back and drilled a hole in the drain pan which ruined the ceiling underneath. Other HVAC people have come since then and are amazed that these people are in business and will refuse to touch the unit since it’s be Frankensteined together. The owner of McMurrays told us he didn’t want to replace the unit as it needed because then the warranty company wouldn’t call on him for service anymore and he had to pay for his expensive BMW or something.

Stay away as they may do well for others but do you want to be the one that now has a weird system, extra damage, and then lies to the insurance company so that they call you a liar because you didn’t video the whole process while in your house?

Their Colony Insurance that covers them will not pay out either with evidence of damage and us physically being there and seeing damage live…specifically agent Melanie Ortiz-Smith told me that if I didn’t have a video of Mcmurray doing something wrong then I’m a liar. She ask me why I hadn’t gotten a new unit as it was almost 20 yrs old and implied that was the problem.

Told her this is first time we had problems with it and that’s why we called her client to fix…not make worse. She then terminated the call with me when I told her I was a veteran and have no reason to lie about the $900 damage to ceiling. The unit however on the roof will cost 7-12K when all done and complete….what a waste

  2. Sorry to say that I had a bad experience.

Sorry to say that I had a bad experience. My heating stopped working and these guys were the first I called. I was told there was a crack in the heat exchanger, that it was pumping out carbon monoxide and that meant a totally new unit ($5200 minimum), which he could fit the next day.

I couldn’t see the crack he was pointing out and when my landlord asked for a picture of the crack he was evasive. To cut a long story short, 2 other heating guys from other companies came out and said that a flame sensor just needed cleaning and that there was no crack. The heating is now working fine
