Huntington Bank

Transaction Was Terrible

I bank regularly with Huntington Bank, and have never had issues with it.

When it came time to open up a bank account for my Girl Scout troop, naturally this is the bank I’m going to select.

What a terrible decision in coming to this branch. I should have gone to another branch.

The Business banker who took care of my transaction was terrible.

He had to call and verify a few items through their corporate office, and while he was waiting for someone to answer the phone (leaving the speaker phone on) and he walks out of the office to get some items he printed!

So while he’s out of the office, someone answers the other line, and my co-leader and I have to explain what we are doing and stall until he returns.

We get all the paperwork signed and good to go.

He asked me questions about what I wanted the PIN on my debit card to be, and totally ignores my co-leader.

We get the account opened, he refuses to offer checks, saying that he didn’t see a need for us to have them (even though I felt we needed them), and sends us on our way.

Fast forward a month – I get a call from him yesterday, saying “Oh, there’s some additional paperwork you need to sign. I emailed it to you last month.”

Uh, no? So then I have him email it to me and told him I would get it taken care of.

He also claims to have called me before, but got no answer and left a message.

What a crock! I have never had any messages from him, nor any missed called.

Whatever, I’ll take care of it. I was also told that if I don’t get the paperwork signed and back to the bank within 10 days, they will close the account.

Funny thing, his email to me says 7 days, so which is it?

So today, why do I get ANOTHER call from the bank, from a woman this time, telling me I need to stop in and sign more paperwork? Are you serious? I asked her if it was different from the paperwork the other banker ALREADY SENT ME.

The paperwork also appears to need to be notarized (I’m a notary public in Ohio, I know what those types of documents look like) only to be told over the phone that no notary is necessary.

I am hoping that I won’t have to go through this mess again, because if I do, then I will close the account and go to a more reliable bank.

  1. Which NO ONE TOLD ME IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!

Huntington is one of the worst Banks I’ve dealt with in regards to a car loan. First issues I had with them is when I could not make an online payment, so I called Huntington to get it figured out and they tell me my bank marks their payment requests as malicious. I spoke with my bank and they said they didn’t receive any payment requests from Huntington period.

Since then, I’ve been sending money orders for my car payment. But then my bank had some updates done to their system, so I figured I could try online payments again and when I was dealing with some financial issues, I decided to make two smaller payments. Both did not go through and what’s worse, I got charged two, $30 fees for it. I was never charged a $30 before when my first attempt to make an online payment failed. And then when I attempted to smaller ones, I get charged twice because they both failed?? Absolutely ridiculous!!!!!

So I send another money order, and a few days later I get something in the mail from Huntington saying that the last payment received was not enough and I still owed $50 sum dollars. Another, absolutely ridiculous!!!!!

And then… When I called Huntington about it, they said they never got the money order or if they did they would it still cashed it towards my car loan, as the supposed fees would just add onto my loan than onto my due payment itself. I’m increasingly fed up with this bank!!

And when I inquire about the two $30 fees, they explained they don’t accept payments from Green Dot Bank. I and banked with STASH, look it up, and they’re powered by Green Dot. Which NO ONE TOLD ME IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!

  2. Stay Away

We need to transfer our title from WI to FL. Need their title department to send the title to FL. Have been dealing with them OVER 2 months now. They constantly say “this step of the process can take 2-3 weeks” Everyone who answers the phone gives us a different answer on what they are waiting for or where in the process they are.

They are all very arrogant, they know all the answers and every other agency they are dealing with is always wrong. I have had the FL DMV and the WI DMV both on the phone with their title department at the same time to PROVE to them that those agencies have done their part and are waiting on Huntington to take the next step.

  3. HORRIBLE! This so-callled bank has the worst so-called customer service in the history of money.

HORRIBLE! This so-callled bank has the worst so-called customer service in the history of money. A customer service rep tells me when a deposit will be credited only to find out the next day it will be five days later.

Even their written deposit schedule coincides with what the rep told me. No one will help or at least tell me why they screwed up so badly. Pathetic. Given the choice of jumping off a cliff or dealing with Huntington, I’d get a good run-and-go!

  4. Do your self a favor, bank somewhere else.

Worst bank on the planet. Customer service only reads off scripts, no true human interaction. Do your self a favor, bank somewhere else.
