Glen Park Dental

Treatment and Cost is Too High

I’d received a little card from Glen Park Dental in the mail saying they welcomed me & etc. Then it turned out I needed fillings, and the receptionist sat down with me after taking my insurance information to go over how much the work would cost. She had a whole printout of prices, with a little note on there that if the insurance didn’t *quite* cover it, it might be more.

My estimate was around $400. When I went in for my fillings, before they started the hygienist said, “Now, has someone gone over the cost of this with you?” And I stupidly said, “Oh, YES! The receptionist was so NICE! Blah blah blah!” MORE THAN $1300 later, you can see why I feel like I need to write this review. I was prepared for two or three hundred more, based on my insurance, sure.

But almost THREE TIMES as much as these folks “estimated”? I just can’t believe they didn’t know better, especially with all these signals, all this “careful attention” to making sure I knew the oh-so-approximate cost of what they were doing.

It’s not even the price so much as being so misled that makes me leave this review. I’m afraid I have to advise everyone considering this dental office to skip this place, and find a dentist that is associated with your insurance plan, someone your insurer trusts, so you can, too.

  1. WORST DENTAL OFFICE I'VE EVER BEEN TO

    1. Spelled my name wrong. What a no-no in customer service.

    2. Submitted my insurance claim to the wrong address. When I called to say the insurance never got it, they said they would send it out again without even checking to make sure they were using the right address. I had to ask what they had sent it to and of course it was wrong. Do not trust them to submit your insurance claim. Ask for a print out and mail it yourself!

    3. The x-ray guy was not following a protocol that protected him from the x-rays.

    4. The dentist tried to scare me by saying, we don’t want any of your teeth to fall out, and proposing $3,000 worth of work plus a referral to a periodontist. Hah! I’ve been going to an excellent dentist for years before I moved and just half a year ago she told me your teeth are doing great and shouldn’t need any work for years.

  2. Bad Service Provide

I hate to leave this review because everyone at this place was so NICE. More than nice; I had a cleaning, and later received a little card in the mail saying they welcomed me & etc. Then it turned out I needed fillings, and the receptionist sat down with me after taking my insurance information to go over how much the work would cost.

  3. It turns out he was sizing me up for maximum cash extraction.

I was given a long list of items that I needed to “fix” totaling 9,000 to fix the minimal stuff going up to 40,000 if I wanted veneers, etc. Do they really get clients that believe all they say?

Dr. Dan spent quite some time interviewing me, not about my dental hygiene practices mind you, but rather about what I did, where I worked, what I did in my spare time, if I owned a home. I thought that he was truly interested in his patients. It turns out he was sizing me up for maximum cash extraction.

  4. Worst place ever

LOL to all the fake good posts!!!!!!!!!!!! worst place ever!!!!!!! i went there as my first dental office in SF, and was told I had cavities and needed drill and cavity work done.

The funny thing is knew I had no cavities and went to a dentist in the inner richmond and he confirmed that Dr dan and his staff are frauds. Thank you alice p …your too right. Go here if you want unnecessary surgery so they can milk your insurance.
