Educators Credit Union

Awful Experiences

I would not recommend Educators Credit Union to anyone. I agree with their mission and was excited to join, but all of our experiences have been awful.

Blocking my account while I’m traveling even when I tell them the dates, messing up my online account and never giving me access to it, their tellers are automated and they go down all the time, sometimes in the middle of a transaction.

Once after i had deposited a bunch of cash, lots of hidden fees, everything always takes forever because their systems never work, etc.

Have heard similar things from friends.

Only posting this review because my experiences were so extremely negative and don’t want other people to have to deal with them.

  1. I'm looking forward to banking with them from now on.

I decided to switch from a large bank to Educators, where most of my family go. I was very satisfied with how they explained the extras and benefits of the checking and savings accounts, and I got my new card right away. I’m looking forward to banking with them from now on.

  2. Their bill pay service is deplorable.

Their bill pay service is deplorable. In May they sent my car payment to the wrong address. Then in Nov. they sent in 2 payments. I can’t afford to keep my money there! I”ll be closing all of my accounts and moving to Landmark Credit Union.

  3. Long time member but can't say anything good about Educators Credit Union anymore.

Long time member but can’t say anything good about Educators Credit Union anymore. Fees are high, products are not competitive and you can’t talk to tellers in person anymore.

Tellers talk to you from remote locations on video screens. Credit unions are supposed to be better than banks in most ways and over the last few years they’ve managed to become worse than the big banks.

  4. not this poor excuse for a credit union.

Terrible customer service and non-existent technical support.Their web services are constantly broken. Take your banking to a real bank, not this poor excuse for a credit union.
