Dr. William Bresnick

This Man Is Just Trying To Scam

I have no idea how Dr. William Bresnick is still qualified to practice psychiatry.

When he found out I was single, he tried to set me up with some of his more wealthy clients that have a sex addiction.

He told me their names and even opened their files in front of me.

My insurance company contacted me asking if I was actually visiting Bresnick multiple times a day…nope.

This man is just trying to scam insurance companies.

He prescribed me copious amounts of Adderall and when I said I didn’t need that much, he said that since I live in a college town that I could get rid of them easily and make some profit.

The very few times he actually asked me questions, they were about my sex life.

When I told him that I didn’t want to talk about that (I was single, no issues with my sex life, and was seeing him for my depression and ADD.)

Most of the time he just talked about his personal life.

I have looked into what to do about this man but there seems to be very little recourse unless I want to pay to hire a lawyer.

So I am here just to warn you of this predator. I believe his game is to try and get you hooked on addictive drugs so that you have to continue to see him every week so he can get his insurance payout.

I finally cut the cord and had to wean myself off all of the medications he had me taking.

I wish there was a way to stop this man that doesn’t involve me personally investing money (that I don’t have!) into a lawyer.

  1. Very good doctor. Psychiatry patients are often unwell and blame the doctor for their problems.

Dr. Bresnick has been very helpful in giving me insight.. He has been practicing a long time and gets some very complex and disturbed patients to treat. I appreciate the experience that he brings to his profession. Many patients with mental health problems blame the doctor for their issues but that is unfair. The reviews posted here are an example of the whiny and deflecting nature of patients who seek mental health treatment.,

  2. Each day I lived off of SDI I drowned further and further into depression and isolation.

Dr. Bresnick has committed acts of fraud by billing my health insurance company for administrative time he spent chasing down his payments, he charged my insurance company for sessions that I did not schedule nor attend (insurance fraud), and he has refused to hand over copies of my medical records to myself or my current psychologist. It is my legal right to have copies of my medical records
    .
In the summer of, I suffered an accident. A spinal cord injury, which means I face the rest of my life in a wheelchair. His careless advice and ignorant guidance I believe was a contributing factor that led to my nearly fatal accident.

I regret this accident and the day I walked in to his office. InI was laid off from my job. I told him I could no longer see him as I could not afford it. He suggested I apply for State Disability Insurance (SDI) which would pay more. I voiced my doubts about that. I didn’t want to endanger myself by committing SDI fraud. Each day I lived off of SDI I drowned further and further into depression and isolation.

  3. Bad Service Provide

Saw Dr. Bresnick for a few years. He kept saying how great he was but I went significantly down hill under his care to the point of having to be hospitilized. I strongly encourage anyone who has problems beyond that of a “normal neurotic” to seek help else where.

He talks about himself and his family excessively. He set himself up as a model and imposed his tastes and values on me. He did not read relevant medical examination reports provided. He was extraordinarily late for appointments even when they were the first of the day at ten. He was extremely rude when interacting with other professionals regarding my care.

He disregarded warnings he recieved from my family regarding extreme behavior. I am really surprised that the he is still practicing. The only reason he is getting one star is yelps system requires a selection. This doctor comes with a big warning especially for anyone who is very vulneralble with significant psychiatric issues.

  4. All I can say is NoT JOB!!!!!!!

All I can say is NoT JOB!!!!!!! This guy is off his rocker, late (I mean 30, 60 min would not be unusual). If you are late OMG then it’s a big deal (this happened to me once, he then talked to me on the phone for 2min said it satisfied our insurance agreement and billed me for the session).

He must have gone to medical school, but I’d trust the homeless guys outside his office to have more skill and common sense. He did a great deal of damage to my mental health, that’s right…not improved…made worse.

  5. I agree with all the negative reviews

I agree with all the negative reviews, and I hope that you all have reported this “doctor” to the APA. He needs to get his license REVOKED. He is very unprofessional (sexist comments, talks about his other patients, talks excessively about himself, goes off on tangents).

I failed to yelp him before I accepted to be under his care. He misdiagnosed me, and gave me incorrect medication. I am another patient that has been hospitalized because of his malpractice.

I strongly urge that people do REPORT HIM to the APA so he won’t harm anymore people who are already in a vulnerable mental health.

  6. I'm so sad to see that many have agreed with me over the years.

I’m so sad to see that many have agreed with me over the years. I updated because I’ve finally been receiving years of GOOD therapy. This has made it all the more apparent how BAD this guy is. This is my experience and opinion, you judge for yourself PLEASE think twice, get a 2nd opinion at least.

I thought he was my only option because I was new to the game when I started with him- oh if I could only go back in time, my life would have been better so many years ago! Yes, I would like to give a negative star if I could based on my experience.

  7. Scammer

Every now and again I check back to see if this guy is still practicing. I guess so…but here’s something you need to know: HE HAS 53 HIDDEN REVIEWS!!! In other words, if he didn’t like the review,

he did his best to get it removed. Take a look at these filtered reviews at the bottom of the page to get a better idea of this guy. He really did me a lot of damage- and I really hope people are informed- they are still free to go to him, just read the opinions, good and bad- then make up your own mind.

  8. Worst doctor I have ever encountered.

Worst doctor I have ever encountered. He is habitually late habitually inappropriate about talking regarding my sex life. Continually encouraged me to leave my fiancé for another wealthier man.

Making me vulnerable in my already vulnerable state of mind. I wish I would have never gone to him in the first place. He’s narcissistic, and has a superiority complex. Do not go to this person. His license should be revoked!
