My grandfather went to Dr. Thang Tran for years. He was dying of lung cancer, and had painful episodes of not being able to breath fully, and side effects from chemo.
We took him to the office to ask if there’s anything the doctor can do/prescribe to alleviate his discomfort. His reply: why do you even bother to bring him here?
I called the office for my dad, who was in pain (for something he had been seeing the doctor for), and asked if the MD can call Walgreens for a prescription.
The secretary snapped “no prescription unless you come in”.
Which translates to = no money for us unless you come in (again).
A year later. My father was hospitalized for a gallbladder infection– Dr Thang, his PCP, never called or showed once!
During this stay, they discovered a mass in my dad’s kidney, and VMC did a biopsy to see if it’s malignant.
VMC said they could not disclose the result to us, and that it would be sent to Dr Thang since he’s the primary care provider who will disclose it to us.
We waited, and waited and WAITED. Can you imagine the fear, the anticipation of waiting to find out if you have cancer or not?!
NO calls from the MD. We spent hours on the phone trying to get through to VMC, only to find out the results were already sent to the doctor a month prior!
If you care about your health and your family’s health, do not consider going to this doctor.
There is no compassion, sense of responsibility, or professionalism here.
