Dr. Tammy Meehan
Horrible ExperienceDr. Tammy Meehan’s first impression is she is down to earth, relates to teenagers and is going to be a great partner in your child’s health.
If you only need a doctor to sign your athletic eligibility forms then she is the doctor for you.
If you think you might have a medical emergency with your child and need a dependable doctor that will actually return your calls then look elsewhere.
In 11 months we have had two trips to the emergency room. We have needed guidance the next day after checking out of the ER.
Sadly, both days in the ER were on Thursdays, called Dr. Meehan first thing on each Friday morning following our emergency on Thursday, called back twice more during the day with staff telling me she returns calls after clinical.
No call back. This time I called the office at 4:50 for the third time that day and I was told, ” Dr. Meehan has left for the day, no doctors available but you can talk to a nurse.”
So now it is Friday at 5:00, I have waited all day to hear back from my child’s doctor and have not heard back, it is too late to get assistance from anyone else until Monday, unless we go back to the ER where we already were with Physician Assistant who didn’t answer the questions we need answers to.
I told the receptionist at 5:00 to have Dr. Meehan call my cell, it is now 10:00 pm on Friday night 5 hours since I made that request, and 14 hours since I faxed over the information and made my first phone call requesting she call.
We will be finding a new doctor on Monday and will not be using any doctors from the Poly Clinic.
Dr. Tammy Meehan should be avoided if you think you may ever need a pediatrician for anything other than the basic checkups.
Horrible experience and so extremely disappointed with Dr. Tammy Meehan and the stress we are feeling right now with unanswered questions on what the reports mean that we were sent home with from the ER.
