Dr. Meghan Hession

Communication Skills

Dr. Meghan Hession and wonder whether we’re talking about the same dermatologist I saw a couple of days before Christmas.

I think about her every time as I look at myself in a mirror and see a half-inch long scar on my cheek as a result of the biopsy she took a year ago.

I was waiting for the scar to disappear with time; however, according to other dermatologists, it is not going to happen.

She tried to explain my skin condition by using Latin terms and when I asked what it really meant, she repeated the same terms by razing her voice in annoyance, so I actually question her communication skills.

I speak several foreign languages, but unfortunately, I’m not fluent in Latin…

She didn’t only misdiagnose my sunspot by claiming that it was an eczema and giving me a medication for it–which obviously didn’t work–but also suggested to take “a few cells” from this sunspot for a biopsy.

“A few cells” were taken from the middle of my large quarter-sized sunspot.

I wished she would have told me that this scar she left on my face was permanent… I also have been wondering why it was necessary to cut my skin from the center of this sunspot, the most visible place on my face, and not from a less-noticeable location… According to other dermatologists, sunspots are very common and are easy to diagnose correctly: they are benign and performing a biopsy on them is completely unnecessary. Caveat emptor!

She takes her time checking my body and always answers all my questions.

Dr. Meghan Hession is an outstanding dermatologist and I would recommend her to all my friends and family. My family and I have been patients of Dr. Hession since 2015. My son was diagnosed with a melanoma on his chest at age 21. Needless to say, I go and see Dr. Meghan ever six months for a full body check. She takes her time checking my body and always answers all my questions.

In addition, my adult daughter (with special needs) has been treated by Dr. Meghan. Dr. Meghan was respectful and quickly put my daughter at ease. The diagnosis of Rosacea and Dr. Meghan’s treatment plan was on mark. So happy to have found a WONDERFUL dermatologist for my whole family.

Dr. Hession is an Not amazing dermatologist!!

After seeing a few other dermatologist who wasted our time Dr. Hession nailed the problem.. She is great and always listens to all our questions. Been going to her for a few years now and our experience is always a positive one. Not to mention she is always on time and comes into the exam room with a smile.

Dr. Hession is by far the best dermatologist I've experienced.

Dr. Meghan Hession ROCKS! Having been a sun worshipper in my youth, I’ve seen my share of dermatologists. For 20+ years I’ve had twice yearly skin checks, numerous biopsies, 2 MOHs surgeries, and some cosmetic derm procedures. Dr. Hession is by far the best dermatologist I’ve experienced.

She’s extremely well trained in the newest, safest procedures and explains all of the possible outcomes – positive and negative. She’s conservative and does all she can to minimize any scarring or other adverse outcomes. She is thorough, listens carefully, takes time with her patients, follows up, and returns calls promptly.
