Dr. Elizabeth Moy

The Practice Is Unwelcoming To Patients

Dr Elizabeth Moy and her collegues seem to be running a patient mill with a revolving door where they get you in and, after a long wait in the waiting room, throw a few prescriptions at you and then send you out the door after swiping your credit card.

They schedule people on 15 minute increments, so that on occasion the waiting room is packed with so many people like sardines.

The front desk admins are generally surly and unhelpful whe you come to the front desk to enquire why you have been waiting for like 45 minutes.

They are sneery and mean, as in “dr moy is running a little behind today.”

It’s hard when you end up waiting almost an hour for 5 minutes of consult.

Parking in the area is horrible, so you have to use the crowded and expensive basement lot.

What bothered me the most about Dr Moy was her condescending manner regarding my health care questions.

For example, when I asked her about the safety of prescriptions she gave me, she basically brushed me off as if they were harmless little sugar pills.

In reality the meds gave me major side effects over time including severe mood swings, bloating, sweats, and other female issues I don’t want to go into.

When i went to consult with another obgyn, they were horrified at how long she had let me take those meds without consistent oversight.

They took me off the meds immediately.

Dr Moy is curt, haughty, rushes through appointments, and not careful.

The practice is unwelcoming to patients. Find a better doctor, please!

  1. She was calm, cool, and collective as my husband and i were really freaked out about the babys health and mine.

Dr Moy Rocks! She smart, attentive, and caring. She might run late but its worth the wait. She’s delivering babies all day!! I swithched to Dr. Moy in the begining of my 3rd trimester. I wasnt happy with UCSF. Not only is it a long wait at UCSF OBGYN…but the doctors in my opinion are not as well educated on modern technology.

Dr Moy made me feel at ease from my first appointment. She listened to me and understood my situation. She has experience with women that have had major trauma and suffer from post tramatic stress disorder. My husband and I both felt really strongly that we wanted to have an elective c section. Which you can not get at UCSF for any reason except emergency.

She explained everything to us about the procedure even though we had already done alot of research. This was my first baby at 35 years old and im on Medicare because of my severe disability. Everthing went smoothly with my weekly appointment untill I was at 37 weeks and 1 day.

I developed preeclampsia and had to have the baby that night or my health or the babys was at risk. I also suffered from gestational diabetes even though i have no family history of diabetes, and im of a normal weight and only gained 21 pounds during pregnancy following the special diet. She was calm, cool, and collective as my husband and i were really freaked out about the babys health and mine.

  2. Excellence deserves recognition!

Dr. Moy raises the bar. She was open to all aspects of my wife an my birth plan. She payed close attention to all of our questions and answered us thoroughly.

She was adamant about giving us all prudent information to each stage of our pregnancy. Dr. Moy is, hands down. the best C-Section delivery doctor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and seeing work. Excellence deserves recognition!

  3. I am home with results that was not offered here on this remote island.

Had an emergency as a Hawaii resident, she was there for me and I am alive!
She offered immediate help. I am home with results that was not offered here on this remote island.

I am happy, she offered several alternatives that were not mentioned here at home, I’m alive & thriving…. glad to be home, mahalo (thank you).

  5. but a tiny bit of ethics and bed side manner wouldn't hurt.

I went to Dr. Moy for several years but stopped going for a couple of reasons. One is that I couldn’t ever get an appointment and when I did I rarely met with her, the other is the pressure she tried to put on me to hurry up and have children.

I was 26 when I started seeing her and was single at the time. She recommended that I either freeze my eggs or use a doner to freeze embryos if I wanted children. I thought this was really extreme for that age and would leave feeling like an old maid. All of my friends who have been to her say she does this to them as well.

I think she is bringing personal experience into the exam room and needs to back off a little. A friend of mine was trying to get pregnant and was also seeing Moy, she could not get the time of the day from the drs office, even after multiple miscarriages, they just really didn’t seem to care. I don’t expect holding hands and home visits, but a tiny bit of ethics and bed side manner wouldn’t hurt.

  6. Stay Away

Hated everything about this practice – hated. Avoid.

  7. Dr. Moy is competent but the office is impossible to work with.

Dr. Moy is competent but the office is impossible to work with. Appointments take months to obtain even for pre-cancerous conditions. Test results will not be communicated to you for weeks, even when they have arrived and you call daily to ask for them.

My new doctor had asked me if she had gone over the information in detail and I was surprised how little information I actually had and how much more I needed to know that was not being communicated to me. I cannot recommend this office to anyone.
